Try going to control panel, find the sound icon, and make sure your speakers are enabled. If it says they are, go to properties and look at the settings to make sure they haven't changed. Another thing you may want to look at is the sound drivers. They may have quit on you or glitched. Or in worst case scenario, the sound card itself failed.
You may even be able to go online and find some driver downloads to fix the problem. Though, if you don't have much tech experience, it may be best to consult a more professional forum and let them guide you.
    Hope this helps. ^^

Since both blew out at once, it is definitely your sound card. Use Belarc Advisor to find out what sound card you have, then download new drivers for it. Alternately, buy an external Sound Card.

It's an internal issue since the laptop speakers stopped too.

Many laptops come with shortcuts to mute the sound, could you have triggered it?

If not, what else were you doing at the time and have you installed or changed any new software including drivers/updates?

Shut down your PC, wait a few minutes. Restart your PC.
Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?
