The ignorant and vitriolic attacks against this beautiful, ancient and multicultural symbol are more akin to the **** attitude than the symol is itself.

I am going to make a flag with every basic symbol I can think of on it. Then rally an army with that flag and destroy the world. HAHAHA after that nobody will use any symbol to communicate anymore because other people will bash them and the whole system of writting will go to dust.
Oh by the way the **** use most letter from the English alphabet in their writting too, we should shut down teh whole forum because most symbol are associated with the ****.
Enough of all this bashing, which is nothing more than:
    Reductio ad Hitlerum

This. All of you raging over the use of this symbol need to stop being so damn closed minded and looks at all the uses it's had throughout life.

If I started a radical group and killed all people who were shorter than 5ft tall just because I didn't like short people and used Mickey Mouse for my symbol would you all stop going to Disneyland and watching cartoons with Mickey in them? From what I see here you would. You would let me destroy something that brought so many people happiness and laughter just because I killed people with that symbol on my sleeve.

    Grow up.

History can ruin a lot of things and this one of the them.....People need to research. I SO understand the "dislike" for this symbol, but the original meaning should be looked at as well. It is up to others to change the negative meaning back to the positive one it was intended for (and still currently in use today).

    History of the Swastika

The swastika has an extensive history. It was used at least 5,000 years before Adolf Hitler designed the **** flag. The word swastika comes from the Sanskrit svastika, which means “good fortune” or “well-being." The motif (a hooked cross) appears to have first been used in Neolithic Eurasia, perhaps representing the movement of the sun through the sky. To this day it is a sacred symbol in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Odinism. It is a common sight on temples or houses in India or Indonesia. Swastikas also have an ancient history in Europe, appearing on artifacts from pre-Christian European cultures.

** Just read up on it

When they come out with Awesome-Sauce-ium, or Raidenium, I'll totally buy a charm made of that.

I'm thinking about locking this. Anyone still feel like they still have something that they'd like to contribute? My only reason to lock this would be to prevent the misguided "controversy" posting from starting up again.

What redsrose said basically sums it up

Nope, other than to perhaps say thanks for not feeling the need to censor one ancient culture's sacred symbolism, simply because some in our culture can only see things one way.
