It would be great if this MMO allowed for IG same-gender
marriage.

    Well, I think that it would be a neat idea.
    As for the arguments of people would quit, I don't think that it would neccesarily need to be announced as anything more than 'Modified the Marriage System' at a list of what was updated. Also even though it might cause some members to leave, it would also attract members and might get media attention and publicity, leading to more members. Few things attract like controversy.

    Nah, if you want to change same sex marriages, join your local organization and really make a difference. Even in the US only 4 states allow it, in Europe only 5 countries allow it, and that is it. Than you have several dozen countries that have the death penalty for the same thing....

    Personaly, I do not think there is anything wrong with it, however, as you can see, even in the US, the vast majority of the people do not agree with that view. A company, unless it is a niche company targeting a specific group, needs to apeal to the majority.

    I don't care one way or the other about the idea. That said, I'm now officially against it being implemented in PWI based simply on the fact that people seem to think we need 400 threads on the same freaking subject.

    Yes, deffinitly should allow same sex marriges. I made my female cleric with the intention of marrying another female charactor. This is a feature I've wanted since day one.

    I understand that there are a lot of haters with this subject, but those people should just be ignored. I dont think it will cause as many problems as people believe it will.

    It's a frigging game for God's sake! You can be whatever gender you want! Have the manly one be a guy, the girly one be a girl, get married, and shut up. This isn't the real world people, so guess what? If you were born a guy, act like a total barbie, wear your sister's make up, and wish you were a girl, YOU CAN BE HERE! >_> and etc, ect. Get over yourselves and your not-so-straightness and realize that this is just a game and there's no use in crying over it because crying didn't earn same sex marriage in most of the real world either.

    yep thats right, and who cares if its not legal in the most places in the real world? It's a game, there are no laws here. If games can allow gang related murders, gran-theft auto, and global domination etc, why cant same sex marriges be allowed? In this game we're allowed to wipe out entire species, I think there's a law against that. So please, stop using the "it's against the law" excuse. Because laws have no meaning in a game.

    Since adults either play this game, or allow their kids to play the game (according to the TOS), and since the vast majority of the adults in the US, Europe, and the rest of the world are against same sex marriages, the company is only following what is the "norm" in the world.

    does making an alt of the opposite gender but replacing an l in the name with a capital i then marrying said alt to the same sex char of your desire sit well with the gms or is it frowned upon?

Simply put, someone getting married somewhere doesn't affect others one bit, unlike other things such as gold prices. If anything, it'll grab attention from gaming community and attract new players.     One, we do not know if anyone would quit or not. Two, we do not know if the guardians of the underage crowd would forbide them from playing, and that is a huge amount of people...

    The effect of it woud be unknown, until it makes its way to the news, and parents get involved, and action groupd get involved, and protests and stuff.....

    If it was a good business model, don't you think every game out there would be doing it already?

    Anyways, this all thing is a mute point, since if it is not on the Chinese version, it will not be on ours.
