Suggestion: Forum moderators

Forum moderators are not on the same page.
The night of maintenance, aryannamage decided to go on her usual rampage of closing threads, even ones that GMs were posting in. Ive witnessed her doing this to posts that werent even spam or flame threads, she just does it for no reason.
But yet, instances like this:
http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=376691
where andracil has clearly allowed a spam/joke post that is sexist, go way out of line and then have the audacity to tell me to not to take it seriously, is clearly being shown that moderators are NOT on the same page, and make up their own rules as they go along, as such, should be revoked of their forum moderatorship.
If your going to go hard-****, spamming [closed] on posts every 5 seconds, then perhaps every moderator should be told to do the same. Not following a forum system confuses people, and frustrates them to the point that they freak out.
PWE doesnt have a customer hotline, where we can put in complaints and see immediate results, and we give up that right to have one to enjoy playing this game. Now why on EARTH are we seeing moderators going ballistic and going against what one said?
Ive always held my tongue about the moderators, given that they are volunteers. But I think you should review over their performance and maybe pass the torch to other, more fair-minded individuals, that know how to run a forum, not to just get mad at someone for pointing out what they have done wrong by inserting [closed], i.e the following link:

If your going to trust non-paid individuals with the power of moderating a powerful community, you better make damn sure they are good people you can rely on.
Half the time, they arent even on when you, the GMs arent. Spamming and flaming runs rampant on the forums, and they sit back and make sly comments like 'dont take it seriously' but when they know you guys are on the forums and active, they throw the hammer across the room and knock everyone out.
A lot of people read these forums, and the forums are the people's first insight to what the community and its moderators are like, before they even hit that INSTALL button, and that CHARGE ZEN button.
And yeah, Im putting this thru to Support as well, lodged under Suggestions. Just wanted to make sure you read it personally as well.

I tend to agree, as I have seen many posts against the TOS that they mods allow. One of them even had a siggy made by the poster of a really bad thread. They gave reference to the fact in their sig that the poster made it. It went awhile and finally she gave a half hearted not even real reason the thread was closed. Instead of saying your out of line all she did was say please submit a ticket. And this person was cursing GM's blatantly in the post.
Yes, several things go on that aren't right.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
We can't see everything. Sorry if we miss a thread, but instead of ranting about us not closing it, how about sending one of us a pm telling us to close it, so we can take care of it? We're only human, and we can't be everywhere at once.
Phoenix, as for that thread, the OP there was indeed a joke, and your reply contained flaming. My post there was more of a warning that you shouldn't do that, though phrased a bit differently.
Us mods abide by the forum rules. If a thread goes against those, it gets closed. That doesn't mean we're awful people. In fact, it means we're doing a good job. I have received a lot of praise since I started here, from admins and users both. I'm on 10-14 hours a day, moderating all three PWE forums.
I consider myself fair-minded, too. I can't recall any moment when I let my personal feelings or opinion decide here. The only thing I sometimes do is close seemingly-innocent threads, but that's because everyone can agree that they'll go out of hand before long, and I merely closed them pre-emptively.
As for aryannamage, that's not my place to talk. I personally think she's doing a great job, and she's been around longer than me. I am, in fact, somewhat envious of her, because she's usually a lot calmer than me, and more decisive.
So thanks for this, but I personally think we're doing quite fine. And don't forget we rely on you guys to help us out if we ever miss a thread - pm it to me, and I'll take care of it post-haste.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
This is not in anyway intended as a slight against the current ones, but I've felt for a while that this site absolutely needs more mods.
It's just too big of a forum for 3 people, in my opinion.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

We know but the Admins are picky. b:sad
Right now only Hawk is a pure PWI Moderator, Andracil and myself are both Moderating on all three PWE forums.
ESO seems fine for now as Ladycrane and Jedge are there apart from Andracil and myself though one more would be nice.
JD has only Andracil and myself and as it is a newer forum does need more then normal attention. At this time three to four more Moderators on that forum would be ideal.
This forum I would also say three to four more would be the ideal case for now with maybe having a look afterwards if one or two more are needed.
The admins and also those of us who are already Moderators are always on the lookout for more people but problem is the people we keep an eye on seem to dissapear after a month or two and we do want active Mods right? Having new Mods dissapear after a month or so would not be nice.
Bottom line is the admins do have standards and they have to be met before new ones come in. Give us people who meet those standard and we will be the first to bother eatwithspoons about it.
As to the OP I believe Andracil made good points and will add that all we can do is try to do our best which I believe we do. Andracil and myself are on every day 7 days a week 10-14 hours sometimes more if it is absolutely needed. But we are stretched over three forums so if there is a problem send any of us PWI Moderators whether it is Hawk, Andracil or myelf a pm and we will deal with it asap.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
The forum moderators answer to forum admins only. If you have an issue, talk to me.
Instead of thinking of ways to nitpick people who VOLUNTEER their time to help out on the forum, try being proactive and helping us to find and close bad threads. k thx, discussion over
