what the title says :)

I'd like to know how I make glowing text (like in forsakenx's sigs), put snow/rain whatever effects on it, and especially, how to make a sig from ingame screenshots (videos?) like defected's.

I can only use photoshop, corel draw... and mspaint :]

can I ask why you can only use those? i usually make a base image, then use a freeware like Beneton movie GIF(or something) to animate it

There is a way to animate GIF's with Photoshop. I forget the exact process, but it involves taking a bunch of images in a sequence, and putting them all together so they flip through them. You'll have to look up how to do this, but if you search for Photoshop tutorials you should be able to find something.

    Sorry I can't help more.

most freeware I tried was really crappy, so I mainly use the above mentioned.. I'll google it :)

yay, I figure it out with adobe^^
I'm not sure if there's a way to keep the colors?

it's pretty hard to take lots of screenshots in a row :(

    ani.gif

is there a way to reverse the layers? I moved them manually, the animation was backwards the first time^^

I usually use Irfanview to convert images into GIFs first, Irfanview doesn't make them lose quality. Then I use Microsoft GIF Animator to animate it...

Or... If I want a GIF from a movie clip, I can use GIMP to convert it right away (I'm not sure is there a tutorial for Photoshop somewhere, but this one's for GIMP: http://www.gimptalk.com/forum/convert-any-video-files-into-gifs-using-gap-t8383.html)

the link doesn't work for me...

    mmmh, I downloaded GIMP...
I understand how it should work, (still using screenshots, no videos yet), filter- animations - optimize (GIF); but when I save it as gif (check animated, repeated etc) and open the gif later on it loads and loads and loads but only shows me the the upper layer.
(I've got the german version so maybe some things are named differently)

I also miss this "cut" tool to make all layers one size..?

well I guess I'll stick to Photoshop for now :/

EDIT: seems like photoshop can import videos too :D
now I only need a recording program that doesn't munch the quality...
I've been using xfire so far :/

    k, I played with photoshop a little :D

    foxfox.gif

I also played around with the effects, and I like how it turned out, except that my video seemed to not have enough frames for a smooth looking animation, so I had to puzzle... that's why the background jumps around...

I couldn't figure out if it is possible to make a fade out effect, then input text, again a fade out effect and back to the pictures. how? :(

also still looking for a free video software, fraps, GameCam, what is best? xfire isn't...

I'm not going to lie, GIMP is cool but for quality image editing (like my sig) I used Photoshop, but that's very expensive.
