Downloaded Game, Can't Start

So I downloaded PWI to my desktop so that my boyfriend and I can play together. I upgraded the patch and it's the right client version, but whenever I push start, a bunch of letters come up on a window and I just push "ok" and it doesn't start.... What could be the problem??

    Could you be a bit more specific with regards to the error message?

    It just pops up a bunch of random letters and numbers, nothing specific. I can take a screenshot of it if needed. I'm connected to the internet, it just won't let me in the game.

    i'm haveing trouble to, its saying the application failed to initialize properly(0xc000001e). Click on OK to terminate the applicationb:angryb:cry

    I'm going to need some more information from you about your computer. Go to Start, click on Run (or Search if using Vista), and type in dxdiag and press enter.

    Click on the Display tab, and then post here everything in the Device and Drivers boxes:
