    This really is impossible to win unless you are someone with the ability to close this thread. And even if you win, nobody will know since you were the last post :P meaning nobody probably saw it.

    Ouch. Really. Ouch. I can't see most of the questions, but I can see your answers... Number 7, you solved for 0, instead of Undefined. Don't sweat it, though. Algebra sucks. You'll get better at it. Just requires practice. Now... Once you start getting into Calculus... Yeah. **** Calculus.

    I'm just waking up, so I might be wrong, but Undefined means a situation where something can't exist. In this case, (k-3)/(2k + 5) , you'd find a way to turn the bottom number into 0, which would give you (-2.5), which would turn the bottom into (-5 + 5) which is 0, and the top into (-5.5) Since you can't divide (-5.5) by 0, or really, anything by 0, it doesn't exist, and is therefore, Undefined. So, k = (-2.5)

    As for Calculus, take everything you've been learning so far, and multiply it by about 100 in annoying. You start getting into some weird things, requiring you to memorize ungodly amounts of bizarre formulas.

    Unless high school has changed a bunch, the most you'll have to take is pre-calc. That's bad, but not as bad as the calc class itself. And don't worry, not everyone has a head for math. If your really having trouble, you might consider getting a tutor to help you.

    The final math class my High School offered was actually Calc itself, but it wasn't required. And even then... Calc I, compared to the later Calcs... I was not amused when I got to Calc III.

    And like you said, not everyone has a head for math. I do, but then again, I've always loved numbers, etc. Math and words. Those are what I love. Which is why I'm in the programming field. b:pleased Or would be... If I wasn't too bloody broke to afford tuition right now... *grumble grumble*

    But, hey. That's what college is for. After you stumble through 13 years of people telling you what to learn, you get to decide for yourself what you're interested in.

    Number 7 would be "k = -5/2", as the only situation where that function would be undefined would be when the denominator is equal to zero. The denominator is 2k + 5, so the function is undefined iff (if and only if) 2k + 5 = 0. Algebra will show us:


    2k + 5 = 0

    2k = -5

    k = -5/2

    ...the other problems...give me time on those. I passed Calc II just this last semester.
