    So, why don't you? There's lots of ways to learn a language. Why not just take a few classes or something?

    Indeed. Try learning a few simple phrases, then do what you want to and go there. You'll learn the language a whole lot faster than you ever could here.

    Or just make a bunch of Japanese friends and listen to them talking in their own language. That might work as well.
