all of you full attack clerics what do you think about the magic attack buff?

    What do you think they feel about it? Magic attack buff should be on your list of things to max fairly fast, if that's what you are asking.

    yeah i wanted too max it. i friend gave buffed and it was awesome. hes lvl 39 though. just wondering im glad to hear it.

    this was a silly question, OP.

    wether full attack or full support, or anything inbetween....

    spirits gift will help you do EVERYTHING you do better. be it attacking or healing, because it is ALL based off your magic attack. every cleric should have spirits gift maxed for lvl at all times.
    i'm pro all classes, and against none in particular..
    but the age old QQ about venos is just that. OLD.
    QQ'd about a nix lately? check out this thread n tell me who's "OP" lol..

    If my understanding of the skill descriptions is correct - they are based on your base magic attack, which spirits gift does not affect.

    i dont rly have anyone to test this out with, but someone could take their cleric and a friend and enter duel. cleric takes off weapon to flatten out thir mag atk. friend does some damage, and cleric uses skill that dosent heal them to max HP (lv1 wellspring or blessing for example). see how much hp is healed, then repeat experimentation with spirits gift buff going.

    EDIT: (at least according to ecatomb, i'm not on my cleric atm or i'd check there)...
    plumeshot, cyclone, etc etc... they all say "base magic damage" also, so if "base magic dmg" is the unbuffed value then spirits gift would be completely useless, and any cleric who kills anything would disagree with that. (spirits gift increases attack, and thats very easily verifiable)

    so, without having gone and testing heals for lack of having someone to do it with.. i'm gona say heals and attacks are both affected by spirit's gift since they're both based off the same said "base magic damage"

    I haven't done extensive testing (or any testing really) but after using spirits gift for almost 60 lvls i can say fairly confidently that it effects both attacks and heal. It is awesome, no cleric should be without it.

    Literacy works, read the skill descrip. It is based off of your weapon for your boost.

    It affects your base magic attack, meaning both heals and attack damage. Simply checking your character window before and after casting it will DUH that one up for yas.

    What difference does it make? It's not like any cleric, no matter what their build, isn't going to max Spirit's Gift and use it whether they are fighting or healing. Debating on whether or not it affects heals is debating for the sake of debating ...

    Not so much a lack of literacy as testing it late at night with several drinks in me . . . I was casting the wrong buff on myself when I tested it b:laugh
