Time to mount up?

Alright, well, I finally broke down and sold all my fashion items (at what i thought were ridiculous amounts) so now i have approximately 1M (O.o Finally!) So, im wondering, should i get a mount about now? (Getting friggin tired of my level 30 free flying mount ._.) Im planning on only getting two of my 59 skills right off the bat. But im wondering, should i spend it on a mount (Panther, Snow cub)? Should i wait, and try to get a better mount (The other four :3)? Or should i be saving money for an upcoming weapon or something?

Also, Another reason I really want a mount, is that Im with my guild Director and/or Leader alot, and they usually have me carry them around. But, they both have fast ground mounts, and the leader has CS wings, so i always feel bad taking them on my +5m/s piece of metal that can somehow fly. :O
I....really have absolutely no idea what im doing. Just givin' you the heads up.

On my first character I got a mount. Second character I realized that flying is faster.. way faster. Because you can fly straight and not have to go over hills or anything. Also you can auto path and go afk while you are going, you can't do that with a mount. So if I was you I would buy an aerogear instead of a "mount" as it will serve you greater purpose.

Although 1 mil isn't going to buy you much. But you can usually get a 1.0 and sometimes even a 1.5 m/s aerogear for that much. Which would definitely be faster than the free one :)

Flying mounts will be better in the long run. Its good for Afk flying while Auto-pathing and you can fight on them.

You'll need a fast flyer by 70 anyway. And for getting around a lot quicker in general, it's well worth the investment.

I've found that with the amount of farmers out there nowadays, buying a land mount to farm mats just isn't worth the effort.

its good to have both, but i would recommend getting a good air mount first, and widget it up as fast as it will go...you will be spending more and more time in the air, the higher you go in the game. land mounts are good, but i find the only time i use mine is for the race....i farm on my eagle or my old original manta, which is slow as molassas in january! ^_^

I find my land mount saves me more time running from one place to another, even if I have to get off for mountains and water. (cuts my world quest time by 30-40 mins)

I would get a land mount first and then save/grind for a faster flyer (you can find a flyer already upgraded cheaper than the cost of new flyer + widgets)

    This.

I've never bought a ground mount before. Never ever ever.
Wings with 3.0 speed is good enough. I wouldn't like to maneuver around mountains and cross rivers with a ground mount.

Plus, if you're a mage, cleric, veno with nix, or an archer,
you'll be doing most of your grinding with those flying mobs anyway.

Im planning on only getting two of my 59 skills right off the bat.

FYI, It costed me 900k to learn/level skills after lvl 59 culti, so I'd say wait until lvl 59 first and then save up for a mount/flying mount

    Land mount is better.
They go faster, and theyre around the same price, so land mounts have a better speed/money ratio thingy.
Its better to buy the mount directly, i got a 9m/s windsprint panther (non spurred) for 840k in the AH. Panthers are 10 gold. With todays gold prices a panther would cost 2 mil if you bought the gold from the AH.

Spurred panthers can go as low as 1.1mil. Spurs of alacrity=10 gold. A spurred panther should really cost 4 mil b:shocked
    But youre a wizard...=.=

Elves have flight mastery. Maxed flight mastery=+2.0m/s. Thats faster or the same speed as about 70% of the cash shop wings. And its only like 200k ish +spirit.
So for a wizard its probably better to get some nice 2.5m/s flying mounts. Thats 7.5m/s. Almost as fast as a mount from the pet manager.

k so im voting other i think for sure for sure u need to worry about gettin a faster flyer so u can do this one of 2 ways . u can either bank the money u have now and save up for the fastest possible flyer u can . which u are gonna have to have before 70 so u can do ur wq ur land mount just wont cut it for that. or 2 u can get the land mount now farm lots of sub mats, sell them all then buy ur flyer either way it comes back around to u needing a flyer. good luck and grtz on a mil

You should def. get a flying mount. It'll make things so much easier. Especially when you get to doing world quest. ^^

The cost of items from the Cash Shop (most of them atleast) aren't relative to the cost of gold (just a heads up).

Anyways, I would go for a flying mount since you can fly straight as others stated before. Also, I heard that buying Wing Widgets and upgrading the first flying mount that goes 1.0m/s to 2.0m/s is cheaper than the 2.0m/s flying mount in the Cash Shop. I bought a 2.0m/s Blood Mist in the Auction for 950k so it was a considerably good deal.
