How do Barbs PK (not in TW)?

Greetings,
I'm new to the game and decide to make a barb, now I'm reading through the barb threads and just realized that there are very few topics regarding Barb and PK. Why so? Are Barbs just meat shields for PvE and/or are they just catapult pullers in TW?

My questions are...
1. Is Perdition the only PK skill of barbs? (Coz that's mostly what I read)
2. How do you PK or defend yourself (against ganks/PKers)?
3. Which classes do you hunt (easy preys)?
4. Which classes do you avoid?

Thank you for your time and responses. Any more tips regarding PvP is appreciated.

we can do well in PvP but our weakness is the lack of speed+ranged attacks (yes we run fast in tiger but without the demon form tiger at 89+ it's kinda hard to deal decent damage) and many classes like veno, archer and wizard will try to attack and run attack and run on u and there aren't many solutions about that

about the questions

1. well no, we have a few good skill that deal good damage, the problem is that the double axes have a too much random attack so sometimes I feel like in a slot machine while attacking... while perdition does crazy costant damage

2. if they gank u we are one of the classes that will probably survive that, but fighting with 3-4 ppl on u it's not wise for u and ur charm so unless they are really noob get the hell outta'ere, use some of our skills (Solid Shield then fly away or invoke the spirit) to survive better

3. archers, I eat them at all levels... but with a few good archers 90+ I always have a stalemale unless I crit real hard... I need zerk axes

4. venos, they are the only class that can kill me in less than 5 seconds, Nix bleed + debuffs + veno nuking + (if they use it) bramble just kill u before u understood what happened... unless u ninja them from behind they are really hard, blame the game for that


tips for PvP: carry with u antimovement debuff pots (anti stun anti sleep etc.), some pots that increase mag and phys res (when u get ganked perhaps, or against thought guys) and speed pots to run away (if u don't have holy path in ur genie)

1) no. penetrate armor + swell,mighty swing,onslaught, stomp of beast king.
2) go for the squishy. i have my genie set up for defense, with a skill that makes me recieve no metal damage for 10 seconds. also solid shield and tree of protection
3)clerics and mages. usually if i get the jump they go down before my inital stun releases.
4) heavy armour vit venos.

Arma/Pred is the only effective barb pk skill. The idea is to rush and kill off your opponent before they can react and counter. Try holy path and arma/pred, it's kinda twitchy, but if you can time it correctly, it works.

If you can't get the jump on someone, it's hard. Venos have a tendency to throw up bramble hood, then keep hitting you with magic and sending nix after you. Clerics throw up plume shell and self ih, then it's basically impossible for a barb to deal enough dps, and they're as good as invincible. Mages will just run and try to kite you. Bms will stunlock and get into a stalemate. Archers will just run, you won't catch them, unless they're stupid and stand their ground.

I definitely believe perdition/armageddon is the best barb pk move.

Thank you all for the tips. I will try to level up my barb more and see how it goes. It seems that I cannot really PvP effectively without Perdition.

I have to agree with Sticky on this one, I hate it when people say the only move barbs can kill with is Perdition/Armageddon. We have other moves such as Mighty Swing (100% accurate), our Beastial Onslaught does plenty of dmg and there are alot of others. Clerics Plume Shell lasts 20 seconds? I still think we can out DPS their Self IH, i dont think during the 20 Seconds of Shell that they will only use IH, which means they wont have it stacked max. Plus depending on ur Armor and level difference, wep, yada yada, point is, barbs can kill all classes with moves other than HolyPath>Perdition.

people who say barbs cant kill jus dont know what they are talking, clerics, archers, wizards and venos who fight alone always get owned and sage/demon barbs true form gives more speed (80% more) which means less chance of other classes to escape...genie skills sumtimes help to giv the last strike to the target and mighty swing never misses nd has a low cooldown which means a cleric trying to heal him self will get STUNED and will die hard.

NOTE: As barb u need to have zerk axes with at least +4 refinement so you can be MORE effective at pk.

pretty sure archers will just fly up and never come back in a 1v1 fight against a barb unless they have a massively refined weapon...

80s - pre 89 is really bad for archers against barbs

Zerk axes and Perdition just make it a bit easier to pk. But they are by no means the only pk tools available.

Mighty swing, penetrate armor, beastial onslaught, devour, alclarity, spark all have their place. Depends on who you are up against and what they are doing.

im not afraid of a nix, if i see it im gunna kill it and waste your loyalty. if you see bramble hood, run in circles and try not to let nix hit you.

clerics with plume shell are funny, keep wasting your mp charm wich you already waste in every instance LoL.

archers, easier of the three to kill. slap on beast onslaught and they might as well be light armor with no evasion. one stun/tangling/spark/penetrate will finish them easily if they're not dead already.

blademaster are...waste time with a charm battle wich wont end soon.

barb vs barb....just walk away, or stand there, whichever you want. no one is gonna die.

and lastly, arma is cool, awesome vs arcane in a huddle. aside from that its not that useful. go demon, get sunder, go happy!

i'm a lvl 28 barb who can **** low/mid 40s light/arcane users...

"kill" list as of now:
40 veno (LA build)
41 wizard (arcane build)
42 wizard (LA build)
44 archer (primarily puredex, added a tiny bit of vit, and has 20 mag for free whitewing flight)

gonna try dueling my 48 cleric friend today... we'll see what happens

oh yea, all these are duels, and both sides are fully buffed with eachother's buffs, and cleric buffs

(we barbs are epic b:pleased)

sorry, a wizard is is like a cleric, without plume shell. charm battle it wont kill me unless its a good wiz. holy path > mighty *stun* > penetrate > beastial > mighty > pen > dead? if not there is always a penetrate down to near half and armageddon right after your charm ticks. time it right and you're well off.
