No more luring with genies?

I use to be able to lure mobs with Extreme Poison but now it doesn't seem to work anymore. I often used my genie to lure instead of my pet as it allowed me to keep my pet out and buffed and was generally much faster. From my previous experimentation, only Extreme Poison and Qi Manipulation worked for single-luring as it only inflicted a status effect rather than doing damage. I haven't tested out Qi Manipulation though, but its 15m range isn't too practical. Tame Pet still works though (need to upgrade it a few times ><) but genie luring was quite useful ; (

Was this an intended change in genie skill rebalancing (like the reduction of Tangle Mire's energy cost) or was this a change in game mechanics? Either way, are there any other working luring methods other than unsummoning a veno's pet or using Tame Pet?

    I really never felt like my job was taken in parties. I think people would rather save stamina then disallow a Veno in a party.

    and.. it doesnt last as long anymore.. was this intentional?

    i never lured with mine bcuz i suck at it, but i spam it on bosses and whatnot and i sued to be able to do 3 in a row on 130 stamina before i hit empty/under 55.. now.. i cant. so wth? why'd they nerf it? and gave bms a new op skill? not fair.

    any gm can comment on this?...I would really like to bring back the luring feature for genie skillsb:cry. Sometime it's hard to find a veno for TT and FB so our barb or I usually use it to lure (FB 69 last 2 bosses)...but now we can't do it anymoreb:surrender

    I vote bring it back. It is a major pain to have to always resummon, rebuff my Herc.

    It is always nice to be able to have someone else in the squad pull if they want to.

    I don't think I have ever been refused for a squad because a non-veno could pull with their Genie.

    Maybe they want everyone in game to make venos and get rid of other clasess to stop the "venos are overpowered" complaints.

    yea summon and re-summon is a pain (especially herc since you have to buff him again). I never would refuse a veno to join in a party because veno can do other stuff like debuff bosses, give chi, using pet to help w/ aggro. It's just faster to use genie to lure. Also not to mention some venos i played with in the past are horrible at luring (calling pet back instead of put pet away)....b:shocked

    I'd still like to know, is it just extreme poison that wont pull anymore, or is it ALL genie skills that wont pull anymore? Cause this isnt the 1st time i've heard a mention that many of the genie starter skills are still useable for pulling.

    lol...ur a veno u can just target the mob and tame it (ewen if its not tameable) and its the same as that skill just a weee bit slower

    Genie luring is a good thing

    with extreme poison, you cant lure anymore.. nor with Lightnoing chaser

    If people dont have need of a veno for luring in parties. ;they dont know what a veno can do , a genie cant

    I use genie for luring.. dont have to resummon herc ... etc ..

    but in some cases (TT mostly) you cant pull with genie, range is too short.; you absolutely need a veno for pulling.; if the groups says otherwise.. leave them to their deaths ;)
    I look at all the trollers, and Pvpers.. and know they wouldnt have lasted 30sec on Camelot.

    Rules= Know your enemy (players and NPCs) gives you more chances to survive.

    And in TT, more the venos, the better. Nothing kills bosses faster than the veno pets (with their loss of damage reduction).

    Plus, they debuff pretty good too. b:victory

    Dunno about other skills because i never used xtreme poison to lure because eats to much stamina but only a few hours ago i used earthflame(basic zeal skill)to lure and was working just fine.

    Lured with Venom Stinger okay too. I better be more careful when luring though, I sometimes use Extreme Poison by accident >_<.

    None of luring spells worked for our squad in FBs.
    Mine eruption fist aggroed all possible mobs around target. Same with other spells of squad members.
    Maybe it has something to do with new blessing thingy we get while entering fb-s?

    I can post screenshots of our ultimate fail. But I think you can take my word for it, that all members of several squads in different FBs with different genies and skills suddenly forgot how to lure - is not the case.

    From my previous tests, any genie skill that inflicted only status effects could be used to lure. This included Extreme Poison (range 25), Qi Manipulation (range 15), Venomous Stinger (range 25 starter skill for Infliction) and Eruption Fist (range 25 starter skill for Longetivity. I was unable to test it but assumed Dissolve (range 12), Elemental Weakness (range 20) and maybe a few others also worked. Any genie skill that does damage, however, would also aggro nearby mobs in the same way casting a ranged spell at one mob aggros other mobs. It seems the aggro mechanics have changed now to include status effect changes.

    I say bring it back please.

    It'll be annoying to do quest that have mobs that which if you pull one, you pull everything else thats close to it.

    Plus in dungeons, I feel good to be able to pull and let the venos have a break at it.

    Venos were never really needed for luring. Other characters just like making them take the risk, and they have more tools at their disposal.

    Bring it back please.. it was nice having a change not luring every single monster in a dungeon. Especially when solo'ing, herc takes forever to rebuff.

    As for Venomancers losing essientialness.. I still see people in my faction looking for WB/EP/WF for every HH, and never been denied a place for another DD (mage/archer).

    -Tried Eruption and Venom Stinger, both don't work ;_;

    What's wrong with aggroing 3-4 melee mobs at a time, or using Tame Pet to lure? There are about a dozen ways for Venos to lure without Genies.

    In my experience, Veno's are far better off soloing. Others are better off helping Veno to open TT, then grinding and buying from Veno.

    Nope: they cost per use. Conventional methods were and are still free.

    I can confirm this. I just tried Earthflame in fb19, and it lured fine.

    if you only use your genie for pulling, then you don't really need one. I use mine as anti bleed, holy path kiting, tree of protection and extreme poison. godly pvp genie is godly b:dirty
