Archer Manna Charms

As i'm sure all high lvl archers know you run outa manna incredibly fast. Buying pots seems to cost a fortune. Yet manna charms are eaten like water. One HH run with barrage can easily destroy a bronze charm. Whats your thoughts on this... should archers invest in manna charms and why?

Is this a PvP thing? I am not seeing this.
I do not use MP charms, and I always gain more MP potions than I consume when I grind.
Perhaps I do not do enough Twilight Temple runs to see these effects?0 -

yeah it's pvp, in pve we barely use mana
but on pvp, thunderous blast followed by lightning strike would tick your mp charm if you had oneFPW > PWI b:victory0 -
I think hes more or less pointing out Arrow barraging, for things like zhen and other places like HH where you need to barrage non stop.
I personally always use an MP charm because i do believe its cheaper then buying potions, even with the added random pick ups.
Charms ftw.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

mp charm is for lazy archers
u can definitely be good with high lvl pots with pk/pvp
secret letter events alot of ppl dont pick up the pots that drop b:laugh0 -
My charm from the supply box which was 90k lasted me 5 days of PvE and i was fooling around with my skills using take aim (maxed) and other skills just for lulz at times.Navarre was your everyday veno, until she learned her true form. Now she's fox walloping and purging over and over again.. all for a deep stinging, head hunting, wind pushing Assassin. Will there be inner harmony and myriad rainbows? But of course! Yuri&Lemon Find it on Fanfiction XD "Discovering Sanctuary" Chapter 2 is up ^_^0

It really comes down to what it is you are doing. if you plan to zhen, mp charm = absolutely necessary. If you plan to pk, mp charm is a good idea so you dont have to pot randomly when you need to spam some magic XD but other than those two situations, i dont really think a charm is needed. I run all my quests/grind with nothing but the pots i get from mobs. All i do is normal attacks, shell, kb arrow, and stun.Reane-archer-82

Where's the "sometimes"option. I -like- to have have a spirit charm, but it's not necessary.
Barrage of Arrows in HH? Unless there's something in 3-2/3 that I haven't seen, it isn't necessary to barrage in HH at all. Waste of mana, IMO.0 -

You only run out of mana as an archer if youre an idiot who feels that they must grind on mobs doing nothing but skills an no normal attacks. Trust me, I lol everytime I see an archer who must spam sharptooth, lightning shock, thunderblast, vicious arrow, frost arrow, knock back, take aim, deadly shot all on 1 mob.

No need to be a smartass you know. I mean in like normal PVE, you only burn through pots / charms being dumb. Only real reason for a charm is pvp and RB[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Please enlighten me why you would NOT use any of the skills available to you? Why would you use 1 skill and then normal attacks the rest of the way? that makes no sense to me. I'm pretty new to this whole archer thing, but if this is the case then they should have give you 3 skills. Quickshot, normal attack and a buff of your choosing. I don't think you would want to play an archer that way nor do I think you could do it effectively.
I use a charm personally, main reason was in the beginning I couldn't find any MP regen gears and kept dying b/c I was dropping out of the sky if I had to go too far. MP regen +2 and I don't even use any manna. Anyways I use a charm due to the fact that I do not multitask well. I would die all the time if I had to remember to recharge mp, hp and buffs and ooops I ran out of arrows earlier It will take me a bit to learn the character, in that aspect alone I think its good to have a charm. In the beginning you have so much to learn, the less you have to concentrate on.. the better.0 -
Because you don't really need to use that much overkill on mobs when grinding. A lot of mobs you can simply frost, normal until they close, knockback, maybe frost a second time, finish with normal, all without taking any damage. If they consistently get close, throw in a winged shell when they close the second time. That's maybe 60-80 MP total without Winged Shell, and a net of even less mana used with it. Why burn several hundred MP when you don't have to?0

LOL, then why have anything but normal attack at all? The skills are there for a reason!0 -
Of course they are. They're great for TOUGH enemies. For easier ones, like ones you grind on, they're overkill and waste mana. Frost arrow and knockback are the only ones you need to handle those. It's about minimizing the cost of grinding. Sure, it may be a bit slower than going all-out, but it's more sustainable, or at least cheaper.0

Because for me, all I do is this. Combo 1 is Frost Arrow -> 2 Normal Attacks -> Knock Back -> Normal till Dead. then Ive used a bit of mana so how do I get it back? By using Wing Shell -> Take Aim -> 2 Normal Attacks -> Knock Back -> Normal till Dead.
My other skills I dont use unless its a high HP or High defense mob -OR- im pvping. Its a waste to spam other skills in PVE.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
OneHottShot - Heavens Tear wrote: »LOL, then why have anything but normal attack at all? The skills are there for a reason!
Infact, the higher you go, the less skills you need to use for grinding. I don't even use anything but normal attacks and spark (which cost 0 mana). No frost, no KB. I find spark eruption more than enough to take out enhanced mobs most notibly inc. def, inc. movement and inc. life.
To minimise costs, an archer will inevitably in the long run, formulate new ways to minimise coin usage by coming up with better attack combinations while prevent being hit altogether. If they cannot do that then it may be the wrong mob choice.
Skill usage is for more intensive activities. Suffice to say, grinding is not intensive in that sense...(irony right here).0 -

Just a quick question, how do you regain so much chi ._. bc if i spark, i kill mobs easy, just i constantly loose chi if i continuously spark and normal every mob...Reane-archer-82

Well he said he uses them on enhanced mobs. So that would really only be increased defense and increased live mobs because everything else is just as easy as a normal mob. So hes not using spark every mob.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Personally, the only chi usage that I have is the Frost Arrow that I use on regular mobs, resulting in having full chi most of the time, which allows for quick disposal of the Increased Life or Increased Defense mobs. I don't usually engage them unless I have at least a spark and around 50 chi, as I'll likely end up using Thunder Shock or Winged Shell.
As for the mana charms, so far I've used 2 Bronzes and the ones that you get from the Supply Stash. Other than that, I've not used charms, especially not since the mana pots tend to be able to recover about 90% of my mana in one go.If you disregard what I say because of who I am or because of the contents of what I said, you are a fool.

I wouldn't rely on mana charms they become a crutch after awhile.I would plume wing shell.Looking for a decent casual understanding Faction.0

The regained mana at lvl 10 is only 146 MP at the cost of 45 Chi. Doesn't really do it when lvl 10 Frost Arrow costs 81 MP and lvl 1 Knockback costs 34.2 MP, for a total of 115.2 MP.If you disregard what I say because of who I am or because of the contents of what I said, you are a fool.

My bow has "slow" so it has a temporary frost arrow-ish effect... most mobs i fight against i just kill with normal attacks (usually 3-5 shots depending on whether or not "slow" happens), shell, then normal till dead. with this, mp charm = not needed ^_^
edit: my bow is a lvl 72 crescent moon bow, 3*, +1, has a few other stats, but i forgot em :PReane-archer-82

The funny thing is me always having enough chi to spark when I want. I don't even use pots extensively. I use advance spark healing... and sometimes for fun to see big crits.
My repairs end up as 7k on bow, roughly 1500 arrows with 200 kills/hour on OMAs using at most 3 hp/mp pot which was dropped by the mobs (sometimes they spawn on me and I am forced to use hp/mana pots). I currently have 3 stacks of lv 80 hp pots unused and 2 stacks of lv 80 mana pots unused, all of which were dropped by mobs.
I am constantly on 0 mana from the Gloom proccing on my bow so I really do live up to 0 mana grinding.0 -

Never used a MP charm except for the one in stash box, I am a miser. Yup never did Zhen/RB.
(Ok, I admit I recently bought a MP charm pack but I am resisting the temptation to open it)0
