Unimportant question

Just like the title says. It's just a question that came to my mind while bored one day, and has been bothering me since then (yes, I really do have no life lol). Why do our non physical attacks do metal damage? They are clearly bolts of lightning or gusts of wind, so why metal? Yes, I know Chinese mythology uses metal as an element, but why did they assign this attribute to electric/wind based attacks? Any theories, other than it just looks and sounds better than if they made the skills be more metal like?

Hmm to say the first thing i grasped, a wizard once upon a time told me that metal magic is the elemental magic for which exists the most part of resistence buffs... This way clerics's skills are underpowered cause many ppl can simply get buffs that gives resistence to metal damages...0

All of the different magic using classes have a different elemental base to their attacks. Wizards have fire, earth and water, Venos have wood, ours is metal. Some archer attacks are actually metal-based too, but they are still physical attacks.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_(Wu_Xing) says metal relates to thunder/lightning because "metal governs electricity."[offering art commissions, pm for more]0
