Duel with Genie

hi all.this is my first post so i hope to write it in correct forum.
i have a doubt:
in a duel is correct to use genie skill?
in my opinion a duel is a fight between 2 player so the use of genie isn't correct.
in the past,when genie don't existed,in duel there were only 2 player.
what you think about that?

ps:i used "Search" but there are a lot of posts.i have seen a lot of them but i don't found what i searched.

    I personally DON'T use my genie in duel. I'm a cleric and I don't use heal in duels (personal preference?? I don't know. it pisses me off when I duel a cleric and he spams ironheart as the timer counts down.. what a joke.) so when I'm trying to take out a barb or something and all of a sudden he uses tree of protection, it just makes me see red.

    however, it's all fair game in PK. :p

    Coming from Lost City, I see duels as faster paced versions of real pk. That being said, I think if you aren't fighting with everything available to you, you are fighting with one arm tied behind your back and not preparing for real pk at any level. I see duels with no genie use, no healing, no pots as just being a test of what dmg certain skills can do and nothing else valuable to you.

    in my opinion using genies are legit. look at it this way, i got the genie skills the same way i got my actual skills (using my own spirit) and if i have it i will use it. telling me not to use my genie even in a duel is like telling me not to use deadly shot on a robe because it migth crit and one shot them.
    I don't care how old or young you are, how small your **** is, how much of a nerd irl you are or how depressed you are that you never will get laid. There is no reason to act like an A-hole to everyone on an mmorpg. Its a shame that I have to take time out of my day to tell people "stop being an A-hole". So I end with this, if your acting like an A-hole, and some one tells you your being an A-hole chances are your being an A-hole.

    duels aren't pvp of any kind, which means duels aren't pk

    And the basis for this statement is?
    Bladestorm lets you spin around like a carnival ride and do damage. Not using it is almost like having a move called Confetti Rocket Power Leap and saving it for "emergencies"

    To OP. And thats why i hate duels. Stupid rules. No genie, no pots, no heal, no diamond sutra, no running, no jumping on roof, no buffs before fight. I say use the damn genies that's what they're for, pvp.

    I usually don't use it. Hell, I usually forget I have a genie 3/4 the time.

    Hieros are a huge advantage? If two people have a hiero theres no advantage to either of them. And hieroes make a new element of strategy in pvp. ulearn2play.

    i never use genie unless i see my opponent using it....and when they use extreme poison...then i dragon thunderstorm them...and they complain thats an unfair move.....i just laugh b:chuckle

    IMO without charms venos would be way too OP, just send pet and gtfo lol

    I agree with this guy here, though I usely have a genie with just thunderstorm that I EQ before duels with BMs/Barbs incase they uses there genie.

    and genies, in my opinions should not be used in duels...but if they choose to...waste of stamina for them

    i remember the first time i dueled when i had a genie... i was a lvl 27 barb dueling a lvl 28 BM... i used tree of protection and **** his face... then he said after "dude... i cant believe you actually used ToP... what a waste"

    ......................................

    i'm a barb... ToP = 5 seconds of invulnerability b:laugh course ima use it



    btw... low 30s barb pwning high 40s clerics, even with the cleric stacking IB... there's gotta be something broken about the class b:surrender

    I say use everything you can in a duel. That includes genie, heal pots, mantous, etc. Clerics can heal of course.

    As an example hp/mana charms don't work in a duel. If devs didn't want us to use genie skills in duels they would simply make it impossible.

    Running away and hiding to make the duel a draw instead of losing is lame though.

    I think the general "assumption" is that anything but Pots is fair game in a duel. But, if it is a friendly duel you can discuss the rules.

    When I first started dueling as a newbie I asked around and was told no Pots and running around kiting is lame. I didn't know any better but I wondered at that time why you wouldn't want at least to run around, jump and to try to avoid getting hit.

    Of course the person that told me that was a Barb who doesn't do well in a ranged fight.

    Later I watched a friend almost beat a Barb 20+ levels higher in a duel by kiting him with every pet she had in turn (as each one got killed). He was almost dead when all of a sudden his HP shot back to full. I guess he decided it was too much of an embarrassment to lose in a duel to a lowbie and decided to use an HP Pot.

    So the moral here is do what it takes to win including using Genies and if the duel is friendly discuss rules first.

    I don't use genie or pots unless I see that they use it first, everybody thinks that if they just thunderstorm a BM it's a 1hko and they just rely on their genie to win duels so they spam it like no tomorrow. I don't treat duels as real pvp, so I think that standard duel is just the character's skills. I know some people that think healing is cheating... but I don't really see a problem with it.

    well i personally think a duel is to test your ability to fight another player, and i think whoever uses genies in duels.. are jst insecure of their skills b:laughb:pleased

    Quoted for truth. Since the introduction of genies many players got used to using genie skills like their own and rely on them.
