is it a good idea to use mounts to hit and run mobs

was thinking of buying a mount to hit and run better, like a horse archer or a t-rex archer lol

but is it possible to attack mobs while mounted and are there any penalties ??

i know with flying the land monster will always heal themselves after awhile
