Taking "pure support" to the extreme...

i'm curious to see what discussion spawns off this...

build:
str = equipment requirements (full arcane)
vit = lvl +4 (no cap)
dex = 5 (or flatten it if you get resets)
mag = everything left

for skills, maxed ironheart and buffs... other heals and the debuffs as spirit allows

all offensive (attack) skills ignored (will only have plume shot level 1 for offense)

plume shell at discretion (i personally hate the skill)

youll just end up being a cleric with loads of unused SP. Using more MP and HP charm or pots because you cant quest fast enough.

by "loads of unused sp" you do mean like 10k-20k right? because... lvl 5 plume shot & cyclone with lvl 1 on other offensive skills up to lvl 44 caused me to fall FAR behind on my buffs, and almost screwed me for ironheart :O

There really isn't any squad activity worth doing until lvl 60 or so. By that time, SP won't be so tight anymore. And by lvl 80, there'll be more than enough SP to lvl everything that's useful, attack or support.

Basically, by the time clerics become useful, and squad activities are plenty, you'll no longer be "pure support" anyway.

i know as a fellow cleric that I wouldn't want to party with another cleric when all they can do is buff and heal, id rather go solo. Especially at lower lvls.

True.

Not maxing attacks is silly. And it will leave you defenseless.

Celys - Sanctuary

Wow, extreme was not one of the words I would have used for my cleric...but I guess I fall under the more extreme of your your extremes...my base vit is 3 and I haven;t touched any of my attack skills after getting plume shot to level 5.

Then again, I duo consistantly with an archer, and designed my cleric purely for parties. I figured Phys Def ornaments, citrine and garnet shards, and +vit gear would be a smart idea once I got to 60....but so far, just the usual semi-nice gear (with some of the above) seems to be doing okay.

Have fun healing and asking other people to do your quests.

Wouldn't you kill alot faster (as a party) if you attacked with lvled up attack skills as well as the archer and throw them a heal occasionally? Unless its a boss, noone needs full time heals, even if they were a fail archer.
