a few questions about genie skill picking

k this being a regular boring day at the office i decided to look at the genie skills at ecatomb (no life i kno rightb:surrender)i found a some that had a interessting discription. read, think (pretend), give adviceb:bye. (most interestted in PvP potential)


Solid Shield Level 10
Genie lvl 54
SP 12.800 (42.920)
Wood 1 - Earth 1

Energy 44
Stamina 300
Instant
Cooldown 60 seconds
Requisite Class Barbarian

Increases spiritual and bodily strength.
Forms a shield around the target to reduce all damage by 60%,
but also reduces movement speed by 50%. Lasts 10 seconds.

Dexterity: Every 20 Genie Dexterity points increases the duration by 1 second.
Dexterity: Every 10 Genie Dexterity points lowers the speed reduction by 1%.
this one looka alot like invoke but doesnt use sparks or tiger form.

Tangling Mire Level 10
Genie lvl 50
SP 10.000 (32.420)
Water 1 - Earth 1
Range 20 meters
Energy 53
Stamina 400
Instant
Cooldown 30 seconds
Requisite Class All

Creates a mire under the target and all enemies within 15 meters, reducing their
movement speed and physical defense reduced by 30% for 10 seconds.

Dexterity: Every 20 Genie Dexterity points increases the duration by 1 second.
might be good for pesky kiters >:. it also kives a slight dmmage amplifer



Occult Ice Level 10

Requisite Class All

A frigid blast of cold air. Has a 60% to freeze the target for 6.0 seconds.

Dexterity: Every 5 Genie Dexterity points increases the success rate by 1%.
even better agains kiters >:)True Emptiness Level 10

SP 34.000 (121.620)
Metal 3 - Wood 3
Range 15 meters
Energy 75
Stamina 520
Instant
Cooldown 1 second
Requisite Class Blademaster, Barbarian

Meditate on the nature of the void to attack your foes.
Causes 216 damage and has a 100% chance to activate a shield.
The shield can absorb up to 2500 spell damage and lasts for 8 seconds.

Strength: Every Genie Strength point increases the damage by 1%.
Dexterity: Every 40 Genie Dexterity points increases the shield's duration by 1 second.
Dexterity: Every Genie Dexterity point to increase the absorbed damage by 10.

Causes triple damage to targets in the air.

k the dammage sucks but the protection+ beastial rage should be enough to prevent being ganked by magic user+ random melee guy

    I am currently using:

    Tree of Protection
    Holy Path
    Cauterize
    Reflective Aura

    I really like this setup, but im questioning the usefulness of Reflective Aura. Only good in TW or duels, and I think that ToP might be better in that slot. Thinking of replacing with Extreme Poison.

    These are very similar to my own choices.

    My current Genie has Solid Shield (10), Tree of Protection (1), Extreme Poison (10) and Wind Force.

    Wind Force allows me to easily escape any PK attempts. Once I am higher level, however, I plan on getting a second Genie with Thunderstorm instead. That way I'll have one Genie for times when I want to stay and fight, and one for times when I want to just be left alone.

    right now I have 2 genies:

    1 with Thunderstorm, Solid Shield, Lightening Chaser (so u can cancel when Alacrity miss and it's usefull against fast caster bosses like Steelation in 3-2) and Tree of Protection

    and 1 with Holy Path, Extreme Poison, Occult Ice and again Solid Shield (best genie skill that a barb can use, hands down)

    Best skill for PVP is Thunderstorm. Get Inflection genie, put every points into strength, max out the skill, and you'll be able to oneshot many HA wearers at close range. Use when you've wore down your opponent's health, but haven't reached 50% for their charm to kick in. They won't know what hit them.

    Hmm, I have 2 genies. First has Wind Force, ToP, Tai Chi, and Celestial Blade.
    Somehow figured CB would work for pulling, was wring, but it IS good for hitting runners.

    Second just has the default skill I don't remember but is a good puller, and Tstorm. I think I'll put Solid Shield on it and see how a 2-1 squad mode goes next time.

    Agree with Solid Shield and Tree of Protection....only two skills I use. Both are great!!

    Ice Blast (LVL 2)
    Faith (LVL6)
    Alpha Male Maxed.

    All at their highest levels.

    Other skills that might be worth checking out:

    Thunderstorm is based on dexterity and not strength b:bye

    No need to necro this old thread, every1 knows that the STATS that affect genie's skills effect have been changed since last few updates

    Oh, i didn't look at dates on thread. Just assumed it was new since it was on first page. I guess you barbs should talk more >.>
