Barbarian Build-up Charts (Heavy & light)

I made this charts when I first wanted to roll a Barbarian. I made them for two purposes: the first is to know how and where to split the points in order to unlock every weapon & equipment once I reach the required level, and the second reason was to do a pure stats comparison between the Heavy and Light buildings to see advantages and disadvantages from each one.

The charts are made to fit the pure Vit building since most barbs are made to fullfill the tank role.

I recommend to read Dai's Barbarian builds & tips guide also so you can understand the charts better.

The Charts

As I said, the charts are made for the pure Vit buildings, placing stat points on Dex and Str only when needed to unlock equipment and maximize Vit improvement.

I'm also considering only the armors and weapons from the Blacksmith and Taylor to have a common base to compare them since Quests, TT and Legendary equipment are somehow similar to them (in terms of requirements not damage or attributes) to the ones in the shop if applies. Also because I still have a lvl 30 barb and I can't get a hold of any of them yet.

There are more ways to build up (you can see them in Dai's guide) but I think pure Vit is the better setup for barbs.

Note: so far Iv'e done up to lvl 69 since that's the highest equipment you'll find on Archosaur. As soon as I can get the list of the remaining equipment I'll edit and add them to the charts.

Heavy Armor Barbarian Chart

Heavy barbs have a lot more HP than the LABarb (72 more Vit) that make him a better tank, but his Dex is half the LABarb has, meaning he'll miss more often and he's not going to make more critical hits than the LABarb, but this can be compensated using Blood Bath that improves accuracy by 200%.

Regardless Blood Bath can help to miss less attacks, his dodge doesn't becomes better with that skill, He'll still going to suffer a lot of hits, making Vit and Heavy Armor his major advantages.

Also, since Heavy Barbs are weak against magic attacks, His high HP can compensate the lack of elemental defense. Just add a MP Charm or get a support from a healer and you'll become an unstoppable juggernaut.

If you want to go Leeeerooooyyy Jeeeenkiiiiiiinnsssss against any mob or boss, this is the build for ya b:cool.

Light Armor Barbarian Chart

In terms of damage, both set can so similar since Str is the same for both builds. However, LABarbs have less HP (72 less Vit) and his Dex doubles the one from Heavy Barbs, makin them a better hitter, dealing more damage than HBarbs in the same amount of attacks, and better dodgers. This last point is important due to his low HP compared to the HBarb, he need to take down his enemy quickly.

Also, Light armor has a balanced magic and physical defense, making them good against both kind of attacks. This may be and advantage to them, but the HBarb high HP can compensate this part.

Most people says LABarbs are the best choice for PvP, but for TW HBarbs are better because of their role as catapult puller, where they need high HP to survive.

In my opinion, the best advantage of the LAbarb is his versatility upon wearing both kinds of armor, Heavy and Light thanks to his high Str and Dex stats. You can choose what armor use according the emenies faced: If they are mostly physical dealers enemies, choose Heavy Armor. If they are most magical dealers enemies, choose the Light Armor.

Regardless of the above, The low HP of the LABarb is his weak point, and I think between a LABarb and a Blademaster, comparing them only on stats, BM are better damage dealers and have more survival chances.

Note:I haven't done the BM charts yet, but as soon as I do I'll do a better comparison between both classes.

Here they are. any comment opinions are welcome, specially from High level Barbs since I own both a lvl 30 HBarb and a LABarb, so I still don't know how each buid is on higher levels.

most of the post and opinions I've read they say that. I haven't tried PvP or TW out myself to see if that's true, but at least on duels I've done it seems LA Barbs have an edge compared to HBarbs, specially against magic casters and archers.

However, as I said, that edge may be just psicological since Heavy Barb's high Vit allows them to take more damage from magic casters rather than reduce it by elemental defense.

What I'm sure is LA Barbs have better hit rate than Heavy Barbs.

LA barbs are fun to play as i did that for a bit but a true barb has to be heavy mainly because of refines. when u have some tt90 or tt99 or some 90+ molds and u +8 to +12 them the difference between how much hp u get from LA and heavy is a huge difference and secondly if you want to have high magic def at that level just farm perfect saphire gems from world bosses and have tt90 gold +5% necklace and +5% level 96 belt mold which use magic def and +10 those or summin than u get better HP better and better magic def and ur phis def is much better already.

LA is the worst armor in the game, offering the player both mediocre phys and mag defence meaning you end up being all-round squishy. The only reason you'd wear LA is a few parts Ashura at 99 for the interval.

to wield the almost best axe in game for a lvl 100 require 300str/54dex

that is 3str per level and 0.5 dex
leaving you with 1.5 pt for other stuff.

why bother with light armor when you can just go heavy with magic ornaments?

Heh....I tried arcane and it sucks. The armor doesn't give me much hitpoints when refined and even with sage shape shifting my phys defense is still hurting. I don't think you could pull delta in arcane because it has less durability then heavy armor too, i believe. Most mobs I fight use only 1 magic channel and the rest are physical hits for 6-8 seconds as well.
