I know im on a pve server but i do enjoy duels and avoid pvp, because i just dont think i can unless i was prepared and most pking is sudden XD
Im a Arcane veno with more vit and str then normal from what i understand currently at 3.2k hp
But i know how to fight some classes others i have no idea what to do when i get them
any tips u killers could give me? i think i would like pking if i could get in there without dying XD
Clerics - Purge! then just spam hits
Barbs - i purge, then try and take a step back and hit them fast and hard
Bms - avoid their stuns T^T other than that i have no idea XD i just spam spells
Wizzies - the pet seems to do the most damage to them, and i just help with amp
Archers - No idea here, have only fought much higher or much lower

Well, for starters you need more HP. Try and get as much HP, either through refines, shards or EQ bonuses. The beauty of open PvP is that it's always when you least expect it, you need to always be on your guard so having a high HP pool will really help.
Just a question though, if you're an arcane veno, why the str? Extra str than needed on a mage veno is wasted stat points. Why not put them into vit instead?
I'm a fox/mage hybrid myself with magic and str but i'll give you an idea of how I go up against other classes.
Clerics: I start and stay in fox form on them but you can try; Fleshream (pet) -> Amp -> Purge -> Human -> Ironwood -> lucky -> Noxious -> Burning, bascially here you just want to nuke If the battle is lasting quite long, remember to keep purging them when they buff themselves and keep ironwood debuff on them for your pet.
Barbarians: Start in fox; Fleshream (pet), purge, amp -> run/human -> lucky -> ironwood -> burning -> noxious. Wash, rinse repeat until he's dead... but good luck taking one down with a HP charm on
Blademasters: These should be a veno's favourite. Fleshream (pet), purge (if buffed. if not, wait until he puts his magic defense buff up) amp -> run/human -> ironwood -> lucky -> noxious -> burning.
Wizards: Oh how I love to keel these.
Fleshream -> amp -> purge -> ironwood. Should be dead by then, if not just keep amp+ironwood going while DDing in between.
Archers: These are going to present a problem for you, especially considering that bramble hood wont work on these. I kill them by staying in fox form, I have maxed stunning blow which keeps them on frozen on the spot for 10 seconds so they cant run. Since I can do that, I fight them up close in fox form where their damage is 50% less. I also use befuddling mist to reduce their accuracy by 70%.
Since you're mage though you had better hope that you can outlast their damage. They crit incredibly high and you'll have trouble surviving with only 3.2K HP. you might want to invest in maxing stunning blow so you can stop them from running, then you can just Fleshream -> amp -> purge (if buffed) -> human -> ironwood -> noxious -> burning ect.
Just remember that bramble hood and bramble guard wont reflect damage in open pvp (white player mode) but you'll still have the 75% reduced damage on bramble hood so think twice before using your two spark skill. Some fox skills to invest in with your build are stunning blow, Leech HP (steals HP, useful if your self heals are on cooldowns.) and befuddling mist. Befuddling mist reduces an enemie's accuracy by 70%, so it's great on archers, BMs and barbs.
Why don't you try combos out on other players in territory war before you go open PvP? This way you can still learn to count for charm ticks which dosen't happen in duels. Territory war and the dragon temple weekly event are the closest things to white player mode with no consequences on death so it makes for good practice.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Wow! thanks so much, i currently dont have flesh relm on any pet but will invest in it on my Dodo pet, i have herc really don't wanna put out for nix right now, spending everything on fixing my armor lol. the str i put in a lot when i was lower i havent touched it really in 20-30 lvls not gunna touch it right now its set perfect for tt 90, though i have a lot of misplaced dex and thats where ill be upping my vit from. gosh i wish i could get in on tw lol there is a lock on our map currently, but dt is a great idea, though the running parts wont work so well lol.
one last question though, at thins point is it better for hp stones or def? i have only been using hp, once and a great while ill add a def0 -

Oh my! i totally forgot XD well heavy and light i would stay away from them to avoid curses and just try and spam magic, as for arcane i felt the same way about wizzies, but i think i would try my own curses and just hope i have better ones XD0 -
Cleric: LA: Nix normal attack till 60% hp, pet stun, bleed, lucky scarab when pet stun ends > dead. Robe: kite till plume shell is gone then LA style.
Mage: LA: same as cleric. Robe: can just kite..normal pet hits till charm tick then bleed and if needed stun.
Nix veno: LA: nix vs nix: attack the other persons nix first, this will aggro their nix unless they press attack again (which nobody does) then quickly throw an ironwood and lucky in and your target should be dead (might want to heal if oppononent is a bit higher level) Robe: avoid getting a nix vs nix fight when u are LA fighting robe, he got better heals ;D. HA: dunno dont see those alot.. but i think pet stun > lucky in good timing > iron > bleed > run or something
Archer: Probably the hardest target, an EA of your lvl will mainly not die with just ur nix, so you need to throw an iron or lucky in (pet stun and make good timing with lucky) also the genie skill -30% dmg taken is usefull here if lucky or pet stun doesnt succeed.
Blademaster: probably the easiest class, pet stun + purge and get back out of range quick, then kite and lucky and ironwood and bleed etc till BM is dead
Barb: Purge>Amp>normal hits till charm tick>bleed+ironwood+lucky+venomous = dead
there you go, always works for me as LA0 -

Heh, knew I was forgetting something ^-^;
Here's what i'd do against venos;
Venomancers: (I hate fighting other venos Dx) Ok, so this is all totally depending on their armour type, and if they're smart they'd be wearing fashion so you'll have no idea.
It might just be safer to assume 70% of the venos you'll face are arcane, 25% of the venos you'll face are light and 5% will be heavy/robe/melee/weird/tabooish builds. Just treat with caution, specially with nixes.
Most of the time what kills me as a heavy/robe veno is either an arcane veno or a w izard who comes in to finnish me off. I mean combine your high magic attack + high phys attack on a nix and i'm lolwtfpwned
To be honest though, unless you plan on getting a nix too you're pretty much dead meat to every other veno out there.
Light+Mage: Each veno would instinctivley send their nix on the other, this is where your HP needs to be sufficient and you need to be smart with your self heals+soul trans. Dew of god's protection, armour powder and such can really help. (Apoth items)
Don't start sweating too much on light venos. Their crits will be higher than yours, their magic attack will be lesser and their magic defense will be a little lower than yours, slight advantage on your part. It'll just be a battle of who can outlast who. Pet-> fleshream -> purge if buffed-> amp -> iron -> nuke their butt !!
Heavy/robe/melee. If they're pure melee only with only heavy armour on you're laughing. They'll be dead in 3 hits max. You may have some trouble with the heavy venos who also wear robes though. The purge/amp/iron combo is still the same, if they decide they wanna go fox form on you
(this applies to light venos too) go fox form yourself, you can use stunning blow -> run/human-> nuke from afar. Just keep that up, the last thing you want is them hitting you with melee since you have next to no Pdef.
In answer to your question though, Because your build is arcane you can spare as much points into vitality as you want without having to sacrifice anything esle. This means you can get a fairly decent HP pool just with vit and +refines. Quite a few arcane venos, even wizards shard their armour with Pdef. It gives them a little edge on foxes, barbs, BMs and nixes but just remember, they're not the only things you fight. I'd personally just maximise as much hp as possible with gems but that's just me. It's up to you, either one.
Just try and get in any practice you can, even if you cant get into TW or DT, whenever i'm bored I just bug my guildmates for duels and we'll always test out new combinations on each other to see what works and what dosen't :0[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
While many of these are great ideas on how to take out other classes, IMO there are some things that you want to avoid.
First and foremost, dont use burn and/or noxious gas in a pk fight. Takes too long to cast and the initial hit only does marginal higher than venomous scarab.
Second, dont rely so heavily on your pets flesh ream... If you do youre just one of the other COUNTLESS venos out there who relies on their pet for dmg. Guess what, if the other person realizes this (and most are starting to figure it out) they will kill your pet first. THEN, guess what happens, your sorry **** is dead bc you dont know how to fight without your pet.
Heavens tear is a GREAT place to learn bc most places you can ask for 1v1 fights and no one will inturpt you (make sure you declare it a 1v1 tho). You will find thousands of ways to pk as a veno on the forums. By far though, the best way to learn is to ask for the 1v1's.
Check out peoples armor, ask for 1v1's around your level. if you keep getting beat by a certain class, dont avoid them, ask for more 1v1's. Look for a lower lvl of that class until you are comfortable fighting them. if you sometimes win against a certain class, look for a few lvls higher. Make it challenging!
You wont learn all that by reading hundreds of different techniques. Just get the basics down. Learn when to purge, amp, stun and you will be better than most.
P.S. Remember!! NEVER rely on your pet, your pet is expendable. Its dmg is nice to have, but be prepared not to have it by your side.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
I have burning/noxious maxed. I particuarly like noxious since it does a hell of alot of damage + gives a DoT and it's aoe, great for ganks/ territory war.
I probably should have elaborated on these more, I tend to only use these on blademasters and barbarians, in territory war it's more "take that bishies" b:infuriated
I think noxious gas is underrated
Also, when it comes to your spark skills you dont want to be throwing your chi in their face because it's pretty hard to gain again. In territory war, it's probably smarter to save your chi for bramble guard as then you get the reflect. It either saves your butt or completly owns melees.
I agree with Sadpuma on the pets, I didn't mean to come off as like that though. I've killed plenty of venos myself when their pheonixes have died and all they did was stand there trying to revive their pets >_>;
Pets die alot, not the smartest idea to try to stand there and heal/revive it in the middle of a battle lol.
Same goes for TW, unless you can sneak off to the sides to revive it, don't bother. It's just leaves you as a sitting duck. And like Sadpuma said; you will learn far better from practice than from words.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

They do know how. But you wont have time to check if you want to survive. Especially if the veno has a nix.
I've noticed another thing that might help a bit, but isn't foolproof. If you're pvping in the air, and the veno sends a phoenix after you. Make sure you have a genie skill to prevent/remove the bleeding effect. (or a purification pot from the apothecary, but because of the cooldown, you might be better off using a different one, it's really up to you.)
Try kiting for a while, once the phoenix is out of healing distance for the veno, debuff it and kill it. If you're lucky, he/she won't respond fast enough. Then go after the veno. :>0 -

I can tell you from experience that the veno will catch you long before you can get the nix even to 75% Health. But even without the veno nuking you, in most cases, the nix will beat you 1v1 even without flesh relm. Nixes have high defence, attack and hp.
the best bet is to keep running, if you're in the sky, drop.
really the only effective way to kill a nix your level is to send your nix at it.b:bye PW0 -
Arcane classes: purge, nix flesh ream.
Light classes: purge, ironwood, nix flesh ream.
Heavy classes: purge, ironwood, lucky scarab, nix stun, nuke venomous scarb, genie stun, more nukes.
