Housing in PW is pretty amazing.

Housing was taken away in PWCN when it became f2p, and that feature was pretty much wiped off Perfect World. Why?

I can see PW make tons of money from CS items relating to housing. I'm sure I would.b:laugh

What do you think?

    b:pleased would be nice b:cool like in Oblivion game b:victory , but can be more lagg areas, so its better if would be underground houses, when u enter in your house or in underground houses area ull be needed to loading a new link,instance.... like TT,rebirth,or Cube,instances.. in this way will not be more lagg b:victory ..could be a good idea for designers ;)

    They should have houses. I'd LOVE to have a house. They should make it so one account owns a house, so you don't have to buy one for each charrie.

    Would love it myself personally, but I believe a GM has stated before that they have no intention of bringing it into the game. But we'll see.

    The GM's have already stated that housing will NEVER come to PWI. Housing is in the origianl version of PW over in China when it was a p2p. When PWI switched over to f2p they abandoned the housing system.

    Did they give any reasons as to why the housing system was abandoned?

    Also, what was the housing system about? What benefits did they give? What did they do (other than just for pure decorative purposes)?

    Off topic but good looking out telling people that calculator thread link is a virus. Looks like gm/mod already deleted that thread as to not help spread it.

    Housing was fun in p2p, but I can see why they abandoned it here. It was very buggy with the benefits (buffs, etc...). While it was fun I won't miss it that much. However, I do wish they would take out the housing addons if the system is gone.

    I've been kind of curious as to how one would interact with an in game house in any meaningful way. It's not like you can sit on furniture or lie down in beds or anything, so outside of having some private NPC's like a banker and a merchant or something, I just don't see the benefit of servers being jammed with hundreds of instanced lumps of terrain and architecture that ultimately do nothing.

    Housing in games like this just give players more of a "home base" kind of setting. Generally speaking, it also encourages role-play. All in all, it just comes down to raising your gaming experience - especially if the house is able to be improved. Everyone likes to have a project and goal in MMORPGs, and a house that can be upgraded and modified fits the bill perfectly.

    I know nothing besides those pictures in this thread about the houses made for Perfect World, though.

    There is great use to a housing system in MMO's. I enjoyed a MMO in a galaxy far far away for over a year before they ruined the game by making everyone in the force.

    The housing system did nothing other than cosmetics pretty much. But there are some people who use the game for the purpose of cosmetics hence PWI has added the Wardrobe closet because so many people buy so much clothing.

    I enjoyed the game imensely having my own house that I could decorate up to 250 items I think it was. I made millions weekly on my engineering profession so I enjoyed decorating my house with dozens of rare items. I could host gathering there and people could just hang out or plot a bounty hunt of some type.

    I do have to say that I do not like the idea of creating an instance for housing since another great purpose of creating housing was to create User-made villiages or cities.

    Our guild made wonderful designed cities with houses layed out nicely and guildhall in cool positions. It was fun being able to see from a distance what your guild has put time into.

    Another idea I am not a fan of is designing your own home. Homes should be generic on the outside with possible a few choices to choose from.

    One final note since I could go on an on about how PWI just is not fit for housing is there is not enough land space for housing currently and if they made the lands bigger I would hate to have to travel even further to get from South to North by foot or mount.

    In the end housing was so much fun even being just cosmetic so to say that it has no purpose but to load down servers is quite not true and solely based on your opinion and as a MOD Hawk I thought you in general would see by the fact that clothing is such a big hit in PWI that housing would be 10 fold bigger.

    P.S. They will never place housing in the game again so if you want a real fun housing system go and travel to a Galaxy Far Far Away if you know what I mean.

    The housing system would be neat, but pointless. Perhaps if the engine were updated so there could be houses with doors rooms, etc, then it would be great, but with the dated engine, it would be more hassle than it is worth.

    The difference between p2p and f2p can easily be seen here.

    The houses as described by Tatuaje literally do nothing but add to the server load. This is fine in a p2p, since all these players building the town and decorating it are paying for the upkeep. In a f2p though, who's paying for the increased memory footprint? Nobody. The only way they would be able to offset the cost would be to charge rent - in Gold.

    I've played **** since beta and when they introduced housing it was a hit. Housing was made in seperate zones so no lag would be noticable. I remember running around the world to gather trophys to decorate my walls, teleporting from my basement, crafting in the dining, collecting money for a guildhouse,... It gave me a lot of things to do
    I can imagine that when housing, private npcs/vaults/items would be added to the cashshop, it would be a hit. Imo f2p or p2p doesn't make much of a difference to a housing extention.
    Even if I was a student, I'd gladly pay my guild a 1$ entry fee to support the mega big guildhouse b:laugh
