Which would you choose?

As an archer, which of these ornaments would you rather wear.

OPTION 1
Dex +4
Dex +3

OPTION 2
Vit +2
Magic reistance +40
Reduce Damage by 2%

also in addtion the OPTION 2 ornament is +1 giving it an extra 26 physical resistance.

PvP Server: Option 2. Bigger health bar, better physical defense, better magical defense, less damage taken.

PvE Server: Are things hurting you easily? Do you come close to dying? Or do you sail through everything without a problem?

If you're taking a lot of damage from physical or magical mobs, option 2. It'll save you a lot of grief.

If you have no problem with your health bar while grinding, option 1, you'll grind a little faster. But it sounds a little more pointless because you should already be pumping dex. If you don't have the right dex build and are coming up short for your weapons, though, get it. Otherwise, more defense would probably be more helpful.

I dont want to bias the responses, but i just wanted to note that dex gives accuracy, evasion, and physical attack.

In this case the item in quetion giving VIT +2 is increasing HP by approximatly 35.

Option 1 for both pve and pvp for pure dex archer. Period. option is 2 is practically useless for an archer. 2 vit = 26 hp, the 2% doesnt account to much, nor does the resistance when it comes down to the hp of an archer, 26 hp isnt going to save you much, nor is 2% damage resis. whereas 7 dex. Thats another story that explains itself. If you're taking dmg while grinding, get a charm. There is no such thing as not enough dex for an archer

the dex one is better..
but if option 2 has more VIT, i would go option 2. personal preference. i prefer more HP since im a pure dex archer. too much dex, too little HP u wont even have the time to deal the damage. but people will argue saying huge damage and the person wont even reach u to deal damage. which isnt really the case in PVP. so personal preference.

I say option 1. I'm wearing a necklace with +4 +3 dex too, as I need 2 of that dex for an extra 1% crit at the moment... but it is evasion. Now trying to find a +5 dex or better phys/mag res or better to replace and refine.

I'd probably take the hp if it was a nice amount more. Can stack up nicely.

Id say option 2 for PVP and option 1 for PVE.

You fail to mention what lvl or base stats of the item... are they protection, elemental or ethereal?

Just for extra stats alone I would definitely say #1.

+40 mdef isn't that big of a deal if you're wearing LA and have done a good job trying to keep all your gear with all resistances. +7 dex is a pretty nice bonus.

-2% damage reduction should mean little if you're playing properly, only 3-4 mobs out of 10 should actually hit you. +26 vit, hell, that's just one average citrine shard.

What I'm actually describing are not two ornaments but the difference between HH80 wrists and HH90 wrists cleverly disguised to eliminate bias. As a pure DEX archer I do not want to loose 7 DEX for these attributes unless there is a good reason for the extra defence.

The HH80 wrists essentially (with the help of a reset scroll) give 14 DEX where as at 90 the wrists give 7 DEX.

I have also decided to wear my HH80 armor as opposed to the available HH90 until 95.

Does this make sense? Mathmatically I will take an extra hit every 6 or so hits by wearing two pieces of equipment that are 10 levels lower but will deal more damage more accuratly. The money savings can be spent refining the HH80 gear to give me 400 or more HP that i would otherwise not be able to afford.

if u want to ask for comparison...just tell us the 2 item, and if u already made it the current stats and ask, dont just do some math, subtract the # and ask...its much less confusing this way.
theres other difference than just addon u got to consider.

tt80 cost 30(i think? or is it 70?) stones to get a 3rd socket, 100 to get a 4th
tt90 cost 300 stones to get a 3rd socket, 1000 to get a 4th

tt80 at +5 gives i think 155hp
tt90 at +5 gives i think 172hp

the base physical defense and magical defense of tt90 is slightly better than tt80

personally i went for the bracer of blood moon and well...i am still using it today

For the record, there is another archer in my guild who goes with HP and Vit adds. ATM He is 3 lvl higher than me and have a 3k hp while I have 1900hp. He also sharded a bit. Its PvE server.

So sounds like 1k hp is better? Wrong. PvE Dex adds are the way to go in my opinion. My gears give me 25dex and I hit for about 200ph attack more avarage than my friend, though he have same weapon and he is 3lvl higher.
He get hit way too much, and even in PvE his charm goes down too fast, while I use my gold one since lvl51. Also he must use one extra skill in grinding (knockback) while I use only frost.

I would go for the 90 gold, personally. Cheaper than Bracers of Blood Moon, and you still get the -interval. I don't know if it offers and str or dex bonuses, but buy some +str gear and restat those points to dex if necessary.

hh90 gives like 8str (?), but I wonder about restating, is it possible? Coz I heard something about that str to be unusable.

str bonus from a piece of equipment does NOT count toward the str stat requirement to use the equipment.
so if an item needs 80 str, u must have 80 without counting the str bonus of that item u are equiping

So basically if you go hh90 you need 94 str + you get 8 str from them, which are unusable if I get it right.
I go with BracersOfBloodMoon in that case.

Resetting to take advantage of equipment strength is somewhat tricky. You cant use the str from a piece of equipment to equip the same piece of equipment. But you can use the str from other pieces as long as that piece never requires the str from itself.

I'm level 82 and currently have 91 str even though I only need 84. This is due to the 7 str from the lunar braces. However, when I turn 86 I will be able to equip new boots while continuing to add 5 dex per level.

Using resets and maximizing dex is the most important thing for an archer in my opinion. That is why I believe the helm of lion spirit is the end game helm for a archer. I currently stand at 435 dex with 3835 HP.

I have a ways till 90. Perhaps I'll learn more about defence and change my mind.

For wrists on pure dex, for pvp, go TT80 for the 7 dex, and 7 restatted str to dex fof 14 dex and like 5 or 6 vit if i recall correctly. For PVE/robes if you really wanna stretch it, go tt90 gold bracers, wear it then restat out the 8 str for dex. walla. more resis, 8 dex and interval.

The TT90 gold wrists have a STR requirement of 94. When you already have 94 STR, if you lower your STR by 8 to restat then you can no longer equip the wrists (or any other tt90 armor).

This is assuming that the wrists have the highest STR requirement of any of your gear (which should be true for TT90).
