The motion in the mini map stops before the skill starts in a similar way letting you unsummon before you even see the attack. The skill option works good for debuff luring but debuff luring loses its value when you get high enough to take hits.
I've used the minimap at times too. It works, but the movement is so little you're talking 1-2 sec between pixel movements, so 2-3 sec before you're sure the pet has stopped moving. Which isn't any different from seeing the pet's skill fire, worse since you're never really sure when the pet stopped moving.

I'm surprised you're poo-pooing the idea of using the skill bar to tell when you can stow your pet. I learned it from you. b:chuckle

Please explain where a suicide pull exists?
Any time you want a little more distance and time to summon and buff your herc. I do it all the time when the network connection is not very good. Send in pet, start running back, pet attacks, gets killed, hit holy path, run til holy path expires, stop, summon herc, buff it, send it at the boss chasing you. It maximizes the time you have between the pull and when the boss reaches you.
I thought they fixed the listen room so that pets didn't aggro the mob? I like the Scorpion for this if it works since it's so slow but still useful as a DPS pet.
I seriously doubt they'd fix a minor thing like that. They still have the bug where pets sometimes aggro mobs and sometimes don't (happens frequently at the FB59 entrance). That might be what you saw.

The tabby is nice because it comes with debuff skills. Just make a debuff the active skill. If you goof and the pet attacks the listen room mob before you can stop it, because it fires a debuff, aggro does not transfer to you.

Maybe cause I'm using the genie skill / tame beast to lure many bosses now.

I don't think it's ever failed me. As I said, the movement stops noticeably before it even attacks. I don't think it's 1-2 sec between movements either. Maybe zoom in or out on the mini map, get a bigger screen, higher res?

I use a shadou cub and a fb 89 cactopod (the lvl 91 one) for luring.

The shadou cub can pull almost all. The cacto I use if I need the range.

I got rid of my kowlin a long time ago. It just didn't survive a lot of situtations GOING IN for the lure.
