TT 90 robes: worth it?

I'm starting to take a serious look at the TT90 green arcane set, and I'm not exactly happy with what I'm seeing.

Let's get one piece out of the way first:
☆Acrobatic Pants
Arcane Leggings
Grade 11
Physical Defence +146
Magic Defence +1315
adds:
Phys. Res.: +191
HP: +70
Vitality +7~8

Those are amazing. No question about it. A ton of HP *and* a ton of pdef? I could not ask for more. These are perfect.

If the rest of the set was anywhere near as good, I wouldn't be making this post. Unfortunately, it isn't.

Next up, the second best of the lot, and a mold for comparison:

☆Acrobatic Robe
Arcane Robe
Grade 11
Physical Defence +171
Magic Defence +1530
adds:
HP: +70
MP +130
Vitality +7~8

Not terrible. High magic defense (which we have already), and a fair bit of hp. But for 8 chips and 350k, we can get:

☆Devil's Cape of Aries
Arcane Robe
Grade 11
Physical Defence +168
Magic Defence +1505
adds:
HP: +90
Speed +0.2 meters/second
Evasion +62

Evasion and MP are about equally worthless, so we're looking at 50-60 hp versus +0.2 speed, and a negligible difference in the defenses. It's a toss up, imo, which strongly favors the one that doesn't cost many millions of coins. I could spend that money on shards and refines and come out ahead on hp too!

It doesn't get any better from here.

☆Acrobatic Armlets
Arcane Wristguards
Grade 11
Physical Defence +73
Magic Defence +655
adds:
Magic +6~7
Vitality +7~8
Reduce Physical damage taken +2%

Reduce phys gets applied after resistances, so that 2% is actually less than 1%. Not very good. The magic and vitality are nice, but I've never been a fan of magic on gear. I spend all my stats on magic, so I'd rather have a ton of extra hp or pdef, instead of a small boost to an already high stat.

The real problem with these is that it's so easy to make

☆☆Fearless Blaze
Arcane Wristguards
Grade 12
Physical Defence +67
Magic Defence +605

Grade 12 means more hp from refines, and I already have one of these with +94 pdef, +94 pdef, and 3 sockets. Once I make or buy one with 3 good adds, there'll just be no comparison. Plus, super cheap!

And finally, the worst of the worst.

☆Acrobatic Boots
Arcane Footwear
Grade 11
Physical Defence +98
Magic Defence +875
adds:
HP Recovery +5
MP Recovery +4
Vitality +7~8

Seriously? Those adds are trash. You know it, I know it, the american people probably don't know it but maybe they should. I'm still looking for a good alternative to these, because there is just no way I'll wear boots that awful. I mean, I'm still wearing my old lvl 73 boots and those are better!

There's no set bonus for TT 90 green, and I'm not going to go crazy with refines (probably +4 on all of them), so why should I settle for awful adds when I can get much better gear for much less coin? Am I missing anything?

    You are absolutely correct.
Thats why some mages prefer to make the Oracle gloves + boots.
The boots itself are trash, but the gloves are great.
-6% channeling, as well as physical defence.
When put with the boots, you also get a set bonus of +10 magic.

There are also others who prefer to use Oracle Gloves + Unchained Sorrow boots.
Or, Fearless Blaze and Unchained Sorrow.

I'm too busy with pdef ornaments to bother with -chan gears. I guess I'll have -3% on my glaive, but my rings will both be 2% crit, so a total of -9% isn't all that appealing. And at that point, my Fearless Blaze is better (+188 pdef, g12).

Also, I am not a CS player, and I don't have time to farm. I have to make my coins on the market, and save when I can. TT gold mats are out of the question for me.

Of that list, I'm leaning towards Unchained Sorrow + Fearless Blaze, but I've been having no luck making a decent Unchained Sorrow. I'll keep at it, I guess. Thanks!

    Make past boots.
I'm currently repping 4 res (missing earth) 1 socket vit+6 pres+94 hp +105 boots. HH90 wrists and boots are definitely not worth it when you can easily make better past gear thats a grade higher.

Is there any proof for this? I'm curious how this works myself.
Wondering how much longer these **** packs are going to be around.

It's what I've heard, but I haven't actually tested it. An ideal test would involve a mp hat with just 1% reduce, and I haven't bothered to look for something like that.

fairly positive the reduce physical harm is stacked onto your current physical reduction. at least, it feels that way. because even though light armour build has 10% more base % than me, the stacked +phy reduction makes them take the exact same amount of damage as me(tested)

i've never known where people got the idea that it reduces the damage that's already been reduced. it'd be worthless if that was the case

    A couple updates:
Is there any proof for this? I'm curious how this works myself.
I went ahead and tested this, and it's true. Duel a veno, because their pet will deal fixed damage. Compare the damage with and without the 2% reduction, you'll find that with the reduction you take 2% less damage. Which is terrible.

Also, I finally found a good pair of OHT boots: +94 pdef x2, and +0.2 speed. With wrists that have +94 pdef x3 (why were these in the AH?), I'm now all set on those two. I just have to figure out what I'm doing for a robe.

Don't overlook TT80 Gold Arcane, they may not all have as good stats as the TT90, but they're much easier to 4-socket.

So u mean using the TT80 gold during the 90's? Which piece? Sleeves maybe for the - chan? Actually a good idea, the 90 gold sleeves have - chan too, so u can use the 80 gold ones till u get those.

Unchained Sorrow has 25 more hp at +4 than the spirit eater boots, that's not quite on par with a socket but it's pretty close, and the difference magnifies if you + it more. Same with the wrists. And you can get much bigger adds on the OHT gear (one hp add is +105 hp, that's as much as the hp+vit adds on the 80 gear).

If I were planning on adding a 4th socket and going crazy on shards, I'd consider it more.

Also, I don't like bound gear that I will outgrow. I'm not planning on any TT gold until my 99 wep.

the only tt90 i hate is the boots. they seem ok for grinding and zhen, but the adds really dont help in pvp

you should probably use oht boots or tt80 gold boots. i guess its possible to craft some good lvl86 ones too, but tt90 boots is just nice for hp/mp regen.
    omg im posting stuff.
