Poison Fang in Humanoid Form

Searching through the forum archives I've found a few posts in which people claim that Poison Fang does not work unless you are in tiger form.

I've always assumed that it works in both forms, but just to make sure I decided to test it.

I spent 1/2 hour killing mobs with lvl. 4 Poison Fang on, and 1/2 hour killing them when it was off. I always attacked the same type of mob (Tauroc Commanders, actually), only used normal attacks, and kept track of lowest and highest damage hits.

The results:

Poison Fang OFF: 1404-2484
Poison Fang ON: 1559-2583

Damage output went up by an average of about ~125, which is roughly 18% of the weapon damage of +2 Skeleton Axes. That's exactly what the description of lvl. 4 Poison Fang says it should do.

    Would anyone recommend/disrecommend leveling it? b:question

    I level it only when the spirit cost is tiny compared to other skills. You only gain +2% weapon damage per level, which is maybe around +1% actual damage.

    I figure that's not enough to justify making it a priority.

    Doesn't it tell you directly in the skill description that it's for Tiger Form only anyways? XD

    Nope, just says you need to be in tigerform to cast it.

    I recommend leveling it. Its a cheap added 30% wep damage (wood or not damage is damage). Also since I'm mostly in tigerform anyways this helps bring my damage up to almost humanoid damage (maybe upto 15-20% less dmg with maxed poison fang).

    it's cheap skill to upgrade after all, I agree with Hazardus: level it

    demon fang is 50% wpn damage :Q__

    Its wood damage... good against other barbs and bladmasters.

    I only have it level 5 :S

    I've got it lvl 10 (I think, not in-game atm but it's the highest for my lvl). Another benefit is it will give you some chi. All of your buffs give you chi, if you have just died and need to rebuild chi before you can flesh ream, just buff.

    they'll describe exactly what the difference between demon and sage skills is

    if anybody is lazy or wants, then just request it and i can take some time to describe it here, however, if nobody wants, i won't even waste my time ><

    easier way of testing tbh.... go find a physical immune boss, for example, fb99. use poison fang attack it, you do dmg, very little, but you do do dmg, im lvl 100 wb, and i do 150 dmg, or somehting like that to physical immune boss because of poison fang, in tiger or human, just fyi.

    do u think we could be able to keep aggro on that boss with a... level 10 poison fang or meabe a demon version ?

    thats actually a great question
    for the phys immune mobs does flesh ream still work to keep aggro ? or does dealing absolutely no damage mean you cant keep it at all ?
    if that's the case then what's the point in phys only classes such as barbs going to fight those bosses

    Yes, you can with poison fang tank physical immune bosses, since your bite isn't resisted, its a lot harder... i tank the physical immune boss in fb99, it helps a bit more with the useless mage buff b:laugh b:chuckle

    edit: most people have a high hp mage with a lot of pdef, or heavy wf tank it, it takes a lot longer though, since they are the only DD. But it can be tanked by a wb ;)

    wow...had no idea it gave a small bit of damage in human too... looks like its time to bring poison fang past lvl 1.

    I am so used to havin it that I actually notice when it wears off, because I kill the mobs slower. Kinda like noticing when bloodbath wears off, only then you miss 3 times in a row.

    Same happens to me. Poison Fang gives me a small damage boost and it helps to bypass the horrible 50% less weapon damage from True Form. Mine is at lvl 7 b:pleased

    Mine's maxed so the difference is quite pronounced.
    And I hate it when blood bath wears off as I grind and ticks my charm. b:chuckle
