New to the whole wiz thing.

Hey,

As the title would suggest, I'm new to this whole mage/wiz thing.

My only other character worth mentioning on another server was a level 50 Archer, in the hopes of amazing pk and i found myself dissapointed, not with the pvp, but, I wanted a change of scene.

So, on this server, I made a mage. When i was contemplating this, i was discouraged by people, for many reasons. I understand that mages only do good pk at endgame, but i still wanted to try.

I started this mage, and played around with it a bit, and enjoying it so far. I want to know if its worth continuing though if:

1) My access to the CS is null or limited

2) I play casually, perhaps 3 hours p/day, at most

3) I enjoy pk, doesn't matter if its group or solo.

    mage/wiz is not a PK char unless u take him above lvl 80.
    And at 2-3 hrs casual play a day will take you 6 months to get there.
    If u want to PK in the 30s, then choose something more suitable ( Archer, barb, BM maybe) that give a higher survivability rate.
    Wizz is for 80+ and very good gear. Otherwise, just forget it, you'll be dissapointed. No other class in the game is less prepared for pvp on pre-80s than wizz.
    I would say try an archer again, but some ppl just can't stand archers. So ... your choice.
    Try a veno for that matter, u will lvl up quick, save cash and ge a phoenix/herc. PvP will be interesting after ( press 1 key and go grab a coffee while wait for opponent to die)

    Wizz is a nice char to play with, but for your style, to see some progress, veno might be the best choice. Nothing can rival the veno kill speed. There are basically 2 players in 1.
    Look at the rankings on servers, how many venos are on top.

    yeah i can't choose between archer or wiz either

    i got lvl 47 archer only but seems like wiz is cool but a lot of 9x wiz saying they can't stand wiz

    i'm trying to see which is better for pk end game without having to spend some 10m on gear

    lol, I just spent 10m on gear :D, and haven't even started to work on my TT80 wpn yet.

    and yeah, I see some 9x wizz complaining about the class, but I see more being happy with what they have. I think the ones that are complaining had this image of wizz being able to **** everything at 90+. They got there and realized that all classes are actually on par ( starting at middle 80s and above) so all the work they put into wizz was not rewarded with a godly char.

    O.o yeah i think i'm going archer

    way faster attacking speed than wiz

    even if i did just see a wiz 1 hit a barb same lvl b:shocked

    faster attk might help if the opponent is stunned. Gives you as an archer a better chance to crit.
    And yeah, crit form robe wizz on BM or Barb same lvl is much of the time fatal (unless the barb has something like 10k+ HP). Then again these hits depend a lot on the lvl you have. I'm getting close to 80 now and the dmg output basically the lowest possible for this lvl range until I get my TT80 wpn.

    I'm going to give archer another go, I don't think i'd enjoy veno, as I don't like wins that require little on my part. But, thanks for, uh, saving me 6 months.

    ok look do you want to go thro hell? if so pick mage and go on if you MAKE it to 60 key word make youl lhave it so good that mage wil lseem a god your choice i feel sick from depreesion at lvl 43 man but im stil lgoing i thin kyou should too :) if you have an archer then go for it

    Ursa is just speaking the truth and she is not a fail wizard. Let me rephrase what she said: Play archer if you want a easy way through the game, play wizard if you want a hard time then at the end get un-gimped.
    Sins are Scissors. Psychics are Rocks.
    Archers, Venos, Barbs, Wizards, BMs, Mystics, Seekers are Paper.
    ...and Clerics are Mushrooms.
    Paper beats Rock. Scissors beats Paper. Scissors also happens to beat Rock...until Rock gets 50k+ soulforce at which point Rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that beats Paper... and would beat Scissors but it can't find Scissors, because Scissors are invisible.

    Yeah, Im gonna give wizard a shot, I mean, i tried archer again, its okay, easier, but, i dunno, felt quite..zzzz.

    Well just post in the forums if you have any questions. Since your on the pvp server i recommend LA build for you. You can read my guide its almost finished just gotta add the earth skills.

    Duuh...

    I'm disappointed because after being 89 levels of being behind other classes, finally I hit 90 and all I am is another equal match to another class, and I'm still just food for the phoenix. After being 89 levels of total ****, you'd think we'd have it a little better after.

    Does that answer you a little better?

    Don't get me wrong though, I still love my mage and I'd never reroll for something else.
