Hi, i just bought a knowlin and i am looking forward to get him as a luring pet (my golem dies too much in luring). So i was wondering which skill my knowlin should have for luring? i dun want to steal agros either.

KOWLIN.....KOWLIN.....sorry, I have a thing with spelling mistakes....
Anyways, about your kowlin luring thing. I'm wondering if you're luring correctly because your golem shouldn't be dying as it's luring, and if your own golem dies, your kowlin won't be able to stand a chance. Kowlin's known for its speed, not for its hp or defense, so if your golem, which is known for its hp and defense is dying, your kowlin is definitely mob chow.
Skills aren't necessarily needed for luring, you just need it to hit the mob once, un-summon it, and then summon it again. If you don't want to steal aggro once it's summoned, level up its Bash skill as it's considered as the best pet skill to keep aggro.0 -
You don't need any skills for luring. The moment your pet hits the mob and is unsummoned, the mob will come running after you. It works even if the pet misses.
If your golem gets killed due to slow reflex or connection lag while unsummoning, a knowlin will do even worse. Try a Eldergoth sharpshooter instead. Since it's ranged, you'll have more time unsummoning before the mob hits it.0 -
There is that short defense buff that comes with the petite sawfly that might be useful but I wouldn't waste it on a kowlin for luring when as mentioned an eldergoth marksman or sharpshooter would be better to begin with.
The reason the magmite isn't used for luring is mostly because it's slow and gets ambushed by ranged magic mobs (golems are weak at mag def). Faster pets can usually get to the target before taking any (or as many) hits, while ranged barely have to step in the field of auto aggro.
There's also slow that comes on a deadmarsh petali which is also a fast pet. Slow doesn't seem to count as a hit in luring though (so it has to take a hit before being effective), and I've only found it useful on catching another deadmarsh from the tight spot in beginning of fb69. If you want it, I'd suggest getting a deadmarsh as a disposable luring pet (no feed, no leveling).Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.0 -
the reason kowlins are so popular for luring is their speed and range...they are the fastest pets, and will really go out a long ways to hit a mob, which gives you lots of time to get everyone ready.
and these beautiful cats (one of the most beautiful pets in the game, and worth having just this alone, i think) though low on HP, are great in places like the SP, and as a general hunter, so long as you watch her HP. ive been using her to hunt towerling in the swamp, for instance. her speed and level of her moves make short work of what she attacks....three hits, and bye bye towerling! so fast i can usually only get in one hit of my own!Chenchenz - Sanctuary wrote: »Hi, i just bought a knowlin and i am looking forward to get him as a luring pet (my golem dies too much in luring).
