The elements

Is it really necessary to use all your elements? I just have my fire balls and crown of flame maxed with Fire Mastery at level 9 until I can max that. I never use any other elements and my strategy is the same for every creature, whatever its element, and I don't get hit.

It makes more sense to me to have one really powerful area than several moderate ones.

I think having a good range of spells, that can be useable at any point, is more exciting and brings more flavour (For lack of the better word I was thinking of) to your fighting.

It's always good to use the proper element again the mob, as in general it will do more damage, uses less mana = less pots (If you use them) or less ticks on your charm.

I have all three elements at equal spots, the main three maxed.

    Do yourself a favour & max earth element for;

    lvl 76 dragonmaids
    lvl 87 undine mystics
    lvl 88 ultrafin suprmes

Whilst having 2* fire main fire based spells for grinding (pyrogram & Will of Phoenix), you have 3 earth based spells (Sandstorm, Stone Rain & Pitfall).

There are the fire & earth based ultimate spells too of course but needing 2 sparks they are less often used than the regular nuke spells.

And, lastly, as you're going to be doing more & more grinding each level max Glacial Embrace to grind water mobs.

Sandstorm is your main grinding damage spell so why not use it against mobs that are weak to earth element.

*Have not included Crown of Flame. Whilst Crown of Flame & Pitfall are both DoT's, Pitfall at least has a chance to slow or freeze a mob unlike Crown of Flames.

pitfall and crown are so fast to cast, that you can get both off in the time of one and a half of other attacks.

Hailstorm also has a chance to freeze, giving you more time to get another attack off.

well I'm not the best mage
but i did it this way:
max stone rain, gush, pyrogram, sandstorm, element buffs, and Divine Pyrogram (as possible)

then till 60 i looking for some eqipt things with just 1-2 elements so that they have very much ress, and choose mobs to grind about what element (mostly water, metal or fire because most dmg and most ressi)
so i think one of the biggest advantage of the mages is that they have 3 elements
so i prefer to upgrade all

    Fire

Archers, Venos, Barbs, Wizards, BMs, Mystics, Seekers are Paper.
    ...and Clerics are Mushrooms.
Paper beats Rock. Scissors beats Paper. Scissors also happens to beat Rock...until Rock gets 50k+ soulforce at which point Rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that beats Paper... and would beat Scissors but it can't find Scissors, because Scissors are invisible.
So Scissors beat Paper and avoids Rock, and that is called BALANCE. -cheze

Not really, the it's only hard for barbs to tank because it use magic attack only, and not melee. HA is at a disadvantage. If you really want to, a robe class can tank him on pots.

i tanked mantavip at 58,60 and for my token quest at 62. It was really annoying he kept on interupting my channeling basically i just got two sparks then either sutra or MS. It took under 20 minutes though but it felt longer.

Maybe it's just me. Right now my pyrogram does more damage to a fire monster then gush does, my gush is level 9. I got sandstorm up to level 7 and earth mastery level 1 and is still doing not nearly as much as divine pyrogram. I don't know what reasons other people like to play, but I like to play for fun. I'm not striving to become number 1 or anything, I just have my style of gameplay. :)

whatever you do next, raise those masteries asap.
Makes a hell of a diference to have about 18% more dmg.
and pyro on mob does more than gush?...something is not right there :)
