i was thinking of making a wizard, i find them kind of fun to play but idk about 30+ wiz

many wizards say they're only worth playing if you plan on making it to 80, i really don't think i'll ever make it to 80

i also see a LOT of 9x saying they regret every minute they play their wizard which has discouraged me on being wizard

also spirea's guide REALLY made me give up on wizards

i kind of enjoy archer i'm thinking of giving wizard a try, just not sure how wiz is at in higher lvls

Do not listen to Spirea, the guy is parodoxically lv.100 and terrible at playing, he has been kicked from a guild for this very reason.

Some people refer to Wizard's as this games Hard mode,

It's a great achievement getting from 1-60 as a wizard and we are a very fun class to play depending on how you view it. We can't do what venomancers do and let an AI do all the hard work for us whilst smashing our face repeatedly onto the heal key.

I highlighted the important part. Some people view it one way and they feel satisfaction from doing things the hard way. Some view it another way and they don't. And it's not always the hard way with a wizard. Sometimes it's easy way and sometimes it's ridiculously easy way especially at higher levels.

If You ask me it's not any achievement to get to 60 with a wizard. Nothing to be proud off. It may require a bit more effort than with some other classes and there is no reward for that effort.

Playing a wizard can be fun sure. But it can also be frustrating like hell. And it can be both at the same time. In my case fun went away and frustration got stronger and stronger with time. It all depends on a person.

Yup we can't, but venomancers don't have to. They just can sometimes. And in cases they actually have to smash their face repeatedly onto the heal key they are doing something solo we can't even dream of doing in a group of 5.

yes wizards are hard to plan and mostly squishy to play. skill upgrades are a major rip off and channeling is disgustingly slow. even then a wizard may achieve crazy damage per second ratio (through the usage of tons of expensive -% channel items) while being extremely squishy or maybe you would rather have excellent defenses at a somewhat high damage loss.

I've just made level 70, its amazing. I love the new armour, my yellow glowing sword theirs nothing more I could ask for I look and feel like the role I've chose. (no need for fashion as wizzy armour looks nice!!)

However it is a rough ride and the amount of times a day I have someone 1-2 shot me before I've even had time to begin formulating an escape is unreal. Channeling speeds really do effect PvP especially when youve got several people trying to turn your arcane **** into a pin cushion for their arrows.

I wouldn't say 1-60, or 1-70 for that matter is some great acheivement. However if you enjoy playing the class and occasionally seeing really high damage (I don't know what some people go on about I only do 6-8k damage a hit with my best spells and 3-5k with my others which doesn't seem that high to me!) when you land a crit using sandstorm and the monster loses more than 1/2 its health is pretty amazing.

You're not really needed in groups or anything as you cant provide any decent buffs and an archer can provide better constant damage than us and is no where near as squishy.

Its not an easy ride by any means, in my opinion playing a Wizard is for those who like to drive offroad in a normal car. Bit bumpy, can cause serious damage to your car (were just so squishy if pure build) but feels cool as hell (specially when you land a massive crit!)

I want to add especially to this last paragraph. Yesterday something I thought would never happen, happened. Trying to get a feel of how hard my wiz hits now (pure build), I used Blade Tempest with genie debuffs on a magic resist metal mob my level. It went down in one shot - crit 15K + some change. Even though it probably wouldn't have happened if the elements didn't match up that way, it still knocked my socks off.

Times like that, in my opinion, are the kinds of rewards you get from this class. I also found out that I can now one-shot clerics 10 levels higher than me. Of course, any cleric stupid enough to let a wiz use BT on them deserves to be one-shotted, but it's still nice to know.

It's just a kill fast or die fast class. A lot of people don't want to play like that. My advice for playing a wiz is just make your own decision. Ask yourself questions after reading these forums. "Will I be upset if I die a lot?" and "Do I want to rely on my reaction time when I play this game?" Stuff like that. Doing that helps you prepare yourself for making your experience into something you're compatable with.
