What do you mean m8ty? If your on about PvP then all classes suffer this damage reduction or everyone would just be one shotting each other - Venos have a pet skill that does not follow this rule, some say it is a bug but it does give them an advantage in PvP situations.
If your referring to the reduction of damage once an enemy (player or monster) are closer then our effective range (CrossBows have worst min effective range and Sling have the best). Then yes it does suck and this is why we must kill things before they get close, Just remember you do get two very useful skills for CC if need be, a lot of archers seem to forget they have them (Winged Pledge and Wingspan) they are life savers!

I didnt read trough it all, but the recommended build there is hybrid.
Not that I have something against it, but thats go against my philosophy. I choose as much dex as I can get.
Also skill description is kinda weird, knockback is fb skill? Not really, wingspan is way better, followed by knocback sometimes. Also there is plenty mobs which cant be knocked back, so there goes theory about that. Also he wants me to get it to lvl10 at lvl89... Is that worth?
Didnt read more than that, but what I read didnt convince me.I kill things b:victory0 -

Actually, you can learn a lot more from other peoples mistakes. The guides here provide good sound information. And reading the guides can save you time and coin.
I've seen archers with extra vitality or magic points thinking extra HP/MP is a good thing. I've also seen archers with strength way higher than level +4.0 -
