Battle Cleric HELP PLZ!

I'm trying to decide between three classes now, when I was only trying to decide between two before. Choices are: Archer(heard they fail endgame/9x), Wizard(heard they fail up until endgame/9x), and now from a recent reading of that massivly long attack cleric guide, an FAC. From reading that, the FAC sounds so attractive, but I'm not quite sure the exact build I should be doing for it or if it is really as good as stated in the guide..

See, my friend is a lvl 53 cleric. He says that the sleep skill that the FAC guide praises so heavily as being a neccesity for keeping your opponent from attacking you doesnt work as it says it does. He said it says itll sleep your opponent for 12 seconds, but normally only lasts for 3 seconds or less (Actually I'm noticing alot in this game that the numbers said in skill descriptions dont actually add up. My BM's stun that says lasts for 3.6 seconds actually lasts for the time it takes me to get off my next shot, so its a waste completely to even use the skill while grinding because I use it and by the time I'm attacking, the mobs are already attacking again: I could list more examples of the numbers not working as said but thats not what this post is about..and I get off topic easily).

Also, this sleep skill, if working correctly, sounds pretty great, but what about in mass PVP when more than one person attacking. An archer has a few aoe's and stuns (I think?) and the wizard has distance shrink to easily kite away if ganged..what does a cleric have but a sleep skill that works 1 at a time? I'm not such a fan of constant 1v1 PVP, I'd love a class that I can stand against a few people at once. Even when grinding on an attack cleric I'd think that everytime you get mobbed your as good as dead unless you fly away. Thats actually the problem that I'm having with all three classes I want to choose from is the "What if you get ganged" factor. WHAT IF your killing one person, great, you sleep them debuff them spark and rip their face off but one of their friends decides while your doing that process that "hmm..maybe I should kill said FAC before they kill steve"..or whatever his name may be thats really not the point. How does a cleric match up when getting ganged on, other than having to fly away to protect their fragile and minimal HP gimped selves. Would Plume shell (or winged shell, cant remember what it is for cleric) be used in this situation?

I guess the reason I'm so worried about getting ganged is if one person tries to kill my BM (its only lvl 45), when I go to attack back I get three people trying to kill me instead of one. I love mass PvP so I don't think I'll be just going around RPK'ing all the time, some of it maybe..But how does a FAC do against being ganged. Actually I'm sure that any class that gets ganged will die in a few hits, but does an FAC have a chance in said situation? Or will their HP be reduced in a matter of seconds?

Also the guide says how great an FAC is against every class determined by their build, some classes being dominated by pure MAG robe users, others by LA hybrids, and I think two by heavy, which I think is just about the dumbest route for a cleric to go, FAC or not. Wearing heavy armor just sounds like a frog wearing a dress. So I'd like to know, if its at all possible, to create a build where you can wear BOTH LA and robes, based on who you're fighting, as well as be able to use swords (SWORDS ARE SMEXY b:dirty) and maybe have a little bit of vit in there for when your getting attacked you wont die in a second. I'd probably only get 100 vit, after I talked to Shano she said that's all you'll need. But with the vit would I still be able to do everything I'm wanting to do? AKA can I be both LA and have some vit in there, or will it end up a complete failure?

I'd really like people with experience to post on this, as I've asked for experienced people to post on my LA wiz post. If you're an FAC and know what your talking about, plz respond to the best of your ability; if your a PVE cleric who finds the build a disaster, thats great, go flame somewhere else..I'd like answers not your opinions about the downfalls of an FAC, however if the class is a complete failure, then of course I'd like to be told that too, lol.

Idk who exactly is an FAC on lost, maybe Sorbik? She's killed me once or twice, Hellish has as well. Actually a few clerics have killed me, I just don't know how to tell the difference between them. So Sorbik or Hellish if you're FAC's I'd love it if you post on here to answer my questions cuz your names are always red, you must be doing something right b:victory

TBH in my experience, FAC's don't do well at all. Maybe up to lvl 30 on a PvP Server, but thats it, You get **** by mobs and other players after that. As a cleric, you need heals to survive. Why take the class's most used advantage away?

I love how so called pvpers look down on a pve server.
Now to tell you what you will get from 100% PvPers and 98% of pvers.
FAC fails if you dont want to spend 1000$ for your equipment. Cause the recommended build is full int. And that makes you 1 shot 1 kill to all classes.
And your dmg output isnt that much greater. Said so you cant really mas PvP unless you Pk only wizards.
You can go vit, most fav build, or LA again if you think you can be filthy rich.


About skills you need Iron Heart, Plume Shot, Great Cyclone, your buffs no matter are you on PvP or PvE. That wont leave you with much other choice for probably 60lvs of the game.

And let me teach you sumthin

Manipulate your inner-energy to form the Seal of Colors. Suffer a 5 second
reduction in speed of 40% to put the enemy to sleep for up to 12.0 seconds.

Requires 20 Chi

Read the part when it says "up to 12.0 seconds".
On mobs in general it doesnt even hold 4 seconds when lv1, in PvP its random but again if you try it on someone 10lvs+ it wont hold more then 3-4 seconds.


Bah like you will listen to me any ways, i am just on PvE server and Pk here is not up to lv as on a PvP.....lols to that very hard

Dude, please reroll a barbarian or blademaster, you want to do stuff like that with a cleric and thats not what the clerics for. If u want to be ganked and still can take the hits from a 3v1, then roll Barbarian, if u like swords which are as you put it "Smexy" then roll a BM, but dont try and do FAC clerics because they are simply FaiL... Either go Vit or LA or reroll a diff class, because full mag for you is fail considering what you want to do with the cleric.

That made me LOL!!! There names are red because they PvP and know how to do it.

And I will make this last part fast --> FAC is not a build, it is an "idea."

Early game Cleric can be tough because they tend to have low hp.(Hint: We can heal ourselves). However, later in the game it gets much easier. If you do not want to get heals, revive, etc. That is your call, but it might gimp you slightly since many people relie on Clerics to heal and such.

This is NOT to say that all Clerics can do is heal. As we level, and our mag goes up, our damage output goes up and it is high. Anyways, my point = FAC = b:surrender. Clerics have the damage output already.

Responses to various items in post:

1) Sleep (depending on its level) will last UP TO X seconds. This is the same with a lot of skills. There is never a promise that it will last for a long time, they do say "a chance to" or "up to." And for the Record....

Sleep is awesome for PvP and TW. It can buy you some serious time. Even that extra few seconds can make a difference

2) BM stuns can be deadly, but there are ways to combat this --> Genie skill and/or debuff/immunity pots.

3) If you are getting "ganged" up on, most of the time you might be dead. Just depends on how well you know your class. I have gotten ganged up on many times. Many it is by sneak attack, while fighting mobs and even while doing a 1v1 (some people like to "save the day"). In any case, there will be times when you cannot/don't have time to react, can react and first thing would be to Sleep if you can get the casting off or just stand there and let them go red so they have to carry dolls (Lol.....b:cute).

4) Plume shell only helps with phsy attack.

5) LA can wear Arcane Armor. LA has NO room for vit in there build. Both can use Magic Swords.

Here is the thing, you can have everything you want in a Cleric by doing a hybrid build. You get the Mag and you get some vit (3 mag, 1 str, 1 vit every level). For Clerics our strength is in our mag, nothing else.

Additionally, not leveling any of your heals, etc, will hurt you more then help you. This is because many look for Clerics to heal only, yes we can DD better then some other classes, but the fact is we are considered the "support" class.

The idea I got from the guide is that with Iron Heart Blessing you're pretty much set. Mayb level another heal or so, but the main focus is debuffs and attacks (or maybe I'm missunderstanding the guide)

NONONO you've misunderstood. I ask for pvpers responses because they are on a PVP server and would know what they are talking about, but I don't limit it to just pvpers that I'll listen to. As I said, if you are on a PvE and want to flame about it (because on a PvE chances are you'd be a support vlrtiv, not focused on PvP) BUT to PvP on a PvE server, imo, takes just as much if not more skill..So few people there pk (at least that was my experience from heavens tear, the only place was SP that I saw anyone pking and they were all 80+ so I figured i'd just reroll on a PvP server where I don't have to be in the 80's to stand a chance) so those that do are probably very skillfull and knowledgable about their class if they are willing to risk their gear. I'm not looking down on pve'ers, just asking those that would know the FAC class more (which would be guessed, since its main role is to attack/kill, that a person on a PvP server would know more about the class as on a PvE server it's probably an unheard of build). Sorry to offend you, I guess I'll choose my words carefully so as to not show feeling superior to a pve'er; I don't feel that way.

I have a lvl 45 BM, I believe I said that. The thing I don't like about it is that BM's are stun dependent because all other classes out damage them, other than the barb who doesnt need damage because their HP is probably double or triple a BM's. From what I've seen (I stand around and watch people pk-I'm just that cool) is that when a BM gets attacked by a wiz/archer/whatever, they quickly have to rush the other and hope each stun hits or theyre done-if they even make it to the person attacking them. Maybe at higher levels this gets better, I don't really know; I just think I'd enjoy a ranged class that doesn't die quite so easily.

And to RedsRose (multiqoute only quotes three apparently), I'm guessing Sorbik and Hellish arent that great? I've watched Hellish take on a few people one time at a wraith invasion-I was attacking the wraiths while she went around and killed everyone, and I saw Sorbik on heavens tear vs. a barb and she killed him so easily-just kept sleeping him, healing, and attacking. Maybe i'll make an archer-it seems it'd be less confusion on my part and I'm just not the supportive type. Theres no way I'm crossing the map to res/buff someone, and as an FAC they lvl iron heart or one or two others, so is that not enough heals? The way I see it, the FAC "idea" is maybe more for 1v1 and no more. I'll make an archer.

Personally might think twice before going full MAG (aka FAC) on a PvP server =/ its only good if you know your opponent is there, which in the case of PvP...they could be anywhere anytime, most of the time. What good is it if you cant survive an initial surprise attack?

Rose, would the hybrid build you suggested give survivability? Or is it better to go LA so you can wear both robe and LA? I don't really think I'd like going full mag either cuz you're right Deceptistar, it'd probably get one shot.

Here we go agian. I would say early on a pure mag. will do lvling up lvling up the essential skills.You could go hybrid being vit and mag.I would consider a FAC as solo farming build with enough healing for yourself.It is not meant for squads.To use this on pvp server being dead cleric.

Spektor, if you want a ranged class, go with archer, they DD more than clerics and have decent survivability with LA. If u went hybrid on Archer and added vit you could do ok, but for your case, i suggest either sticking with the BM or making a barb, because FAC is good "Idea" but not advisable for what your class is meant for.

One more thing, just because you seen a cleric kill a barb like that doesnt mean the cleric will always kill it. What level was the cleric, what level was the barb, if there was a good bit of level distance then its not considered a valid duel really.

Also when i do FB's or anything that we need a cleric for, i dont want a FAC cleric, i want a support/heal cleric that i can depend on to keep me alive and ill protect him til the death. There is no need for FAC clerics, thats what they made mages for, roll a vit or LA build and stop thinking FAC is good. -.-
