Shards in weapons, etc.

Mm, just a few questions.

1. I've always for as long as I can remember imbued sapphire shards in my magic swords/wands for the +magic attack, but I was thinking for my next weapon of putting a combination of a +physical attack shard (garnet) and +metal damage (alabaster?).. since.. those are our two types of attacks anyway..
Do people do that? is it effective?

2. I've been working my **** off to get together mats because I want to make the TT70 acalantha (sp?) wand, but you don't see a lot of people using it-- just the other two. Any reason why? It has a smaller attack range, but it seems to be pretty on-par with the two magic swords. Anyone use it/hate it/love it? :)

    1. Definitely no. Just stick with your sapphire. The physical attack gem will not help at all, as ALL of your attacks are based on your magic damage, even though the type of attack is physical. The metal shards also only add on to your melee damage, which, again, is of no help.

    2. The wand is a very nice weapon. The reason people usually go with Grief's Breath is because the TT80 for it is Endless Ambiguity, which everyone wants because of the -chan and +vit. The TT80 for the wand is a bound gold weapon, meaning you can't trade/sell it, and are stuck with it forever or at least until you decomp. If you have money, go with the wand and its upgraded version for your 70s and 80s; the magic attack is excellent.

I use the wand on my veno, 2 beautiful sapphire shards, +4. It heals fairly constantly never letting you down. Good weapon except that you wont see those high spike criticals that those other people are talking about. )=

    1. Always+ magic attk. You get that multiplied in wpn attk % in skills.

    2. I use a +4 TT70 wand, and I love it. I'm not after spike dmg, I'm all after constant reliable pwn. This wpn gives me all i want/need. All the dmg I do is in a 50-70 points interval, so I can create a combo that works for a mob and won't have to worry abou it needing sometimes 4 hits instead of the 3 I planned. With the Arbor that happened quite often. It transforms into a nice TT80, but that's about it. And of TT80 I'm going for the Yaksa (+pdef) for the PvP part. -3% channel and 100HP won't help me that much unless I put some cash in channeling rings, but 216 pdef modifier (432 with SB) and crit will (with 2 +2 crit rings).

Hmm, I guess I didn't realize that what TT70 you pick determines what your TT80 is.. I'm still learning all of this, haha. b:surrender But that's interesting to know. I think I'll still go for it.

Anyone have any PvP/PK advice on the wand? (Cause, you know, I care about that sort of thing. :o)

You don't need to decompose any TT70 weapon, if you go for the TT80 glaive :)

Yeah, I'm using it, and it has very high spikes. However, most clerics like stable healing rather than fluctuating results, so most usually don't go for the wheel even though the mods are awesome (except for the random +DEX, like wtf, right?).
