Snake Island Race Bugged?

My friend and I both ran the race just now....he went around 6 times and I went 5 times...then at end of timer it told us both "Take The Race Failed" neither of us got experience or badges...what the heck is up with that?

    1) Did you talk to the pole to get your quest?

    2) after taking that quest, did you hit all the checkpoints (you should only need to circle 3 times)?

    3) Did you talk to the guy after making your laps to get your reward?

    4) You are guarenteed a badge for completion (by talking to the guy), but keep in mind you will still "fail" unless you mine one of the 5 winners chests.

    As a 3 time retired champion of the races, yes, it is bugged.

    Due to server lag/graphical lag/duck related lag/computer on fire related lag running past the pole checkpoints as fast as you can(ie. 11m/s) usually causes the checkpoint to not detect you, this is the reason I have retired.(That and the lack of monthly/yearly races which makes winning them pointless)

    A technique for avoiding this is to circle the checkpoint flag until it says checkpoint # reached, it's a **** but you can still win.
    Currently flying internet spaceships around dodixie, moving to amarr soon.
