Yeah that's what I was thinking the only possible situation I could think off was dropping in and aoeing a group of axe bms ganking up on a barb, and even then no one stands still in the middle of an aoe party...

    Except for that lol

    lol
    o.o'
I mean does 3+ people actually huddle around the crystal?
really? The other team must have poor planning. Pretty sure the bm/barbs would be put to better use say.... attacking the ranged people instead of trying to crack the crystal. Like mayhaps having 2 would be fine but really 3+?
    (O.o)'

xD you can already tell me going to be either super obvious or super sneaky in TWs.

Either way me going to die alot.

Oh yes lol, my last guild I was in just did TW for kicks and giggles. But when a few weeks ago when CQ was under attack by like 15 guilds we got owned like a squirrel on an 8 lane highway. b:shocked

Can't believe I forgot about that horrific experience.
Yeah...suddenly I'm looking forward to getting Sage FoW lol. :P
Things I've caught myself saying while playing my mage:
    "Boom Headshot!"
    "Flame On!"
    "Ice Ice Baby!"
*while using Dragon's Breath* "I'm burnin', I'm burnin' for you..."
"You know what they say about mages with big mp bars."

Elemental Shell - A skill to increase magic defense by 1000%. No one has found a good use for this skill yet so dont dive head first into getting it.

True that undine and sophoric come 1st but this skill is pretty useful for LA or one of those "not-so-tested" HA builds since mag res is lower . Against clerics , other wiziez and even archers if you time this skill right it can prove to be a great life saver . With a metal resist genie , shell and proper usage of FoW you will be almost impossible to kill by metal attacks even if your not arcane . The only real problems you'll have with magic dmg will be wood attacks and getting slept by another wiz or cleric then having a BIDS or a BT dropped on you when your not at full hp.

I like this guide for proper attitude towards Vit.

It's funny how playing 90 levels as LA and then restatting to arcane is ok but if you put anything in Vitality they will call you **** b:shocked

My friend plays cleric, we talked about builds and recommended build for cleric is to put some vit and cap it around 50-60 so AoE of bosses won't two shot them. Pure mag clerics are not wanted because they die too easily = can't heal.
Why it can't work for wizard too? After all, wizard does most damage when alive b:laugh

I personally recommend putting some Vit for wizards who are leveling fast and don't bother refining/sharding their gear since they change it too fast and can't/don't want to charge Zen.

I have my vit capped at 20, barb buff multiplies that extra HP nicely, it helped me many times - when mob spawns right behind me when I fight another mob already, when have to step in the range of Wyvern AoE to spam heals on tank because cleric's Purify is in cooldown, when had to tank fb51 mob because tank got disconnected during the fight....

Works at least for me, as I find pre-80 mage as 100% PvE and then I'll be able to afford to restat/refine/shard to anything I find suitable.

Pandora's guide is for Pro LA wizards.
Seraphim guide is for Pro Arcane wizards.

This one comes in 3rd. It's basically a resume of some information found in other guides, probably that's why ppl like this. For lay-back have fun play this is not a bad guide at al. If u want to be a pro at what you do as a wizard, read Pandora's or Seraphim.

Pandora and seraphim have great guides but they shove their opinions down your throat. My guide is to help others find what they like while being an interesting read. I don't have 1k post for nothing, I read what people want to know and put it in this guide. I will finish this guide and add my 8x experience into it. I vote sticky too xD

mizou, your guide is not bad.
The most complete is Pandora's and probably that's why a lot of ppl follow it. Seraphim's is more for someone that already knows the class.

Both Pandora and Seraphim's guide are hardcore guides, and not everyone can swallow whatever they try to shove on one's throat. But those are the best guides I've ever read regarding wizards. I've talked with many lvl99-101 wizards from MY-EN and PWI in the last month and both agree in the 90s you either go hardcore on one path or the other. Mixes and matches are not a good idea. 95% of the ppl I talked with said Arcane endgame.
Your guide is quite ok for everyone that wants something to follow until lvl90, prolly even up to 96.
Endgame has only one rational outcome: Pure mag.

Its just that when you read Pandora's guide, you know he knows what he's talking about, and thats something I miss a little bit on other guides. (Seraphims is the best out of those of course).

    Lovely oneliner from pandora's guide:
Your job is not to be able to take a couple hits to do other things. You don't do other things. The only thing you do is kill things. If you're going to roll a gimp class, at least do your job.

    Another one:
    Elemental Invocation

This is a level 100 skill and I'm hung over and too lazy to figure out what the description of it actually means. It does a bunch of different **** on the target. If you're level 100 and you're still reading my guide, my only question is how much you spent buying that character.

I followed Seraphim's guide as a newbie (after being pointed in the general direction), and I didn't have much of a problem. b:victory

All in all, this guide is fairly unbiased. I like it.

Seraphim guide is for Pro Arcane wizards.

Seraphim caught a lotta flack from high-leveled mages because he made the rash decision to say that Demon/Hell was the best way for mages to go (big mistake). Until he fixes that, his guide won't be as recognized as it really should.

Why it can't work for wizard too? After all, wizard does most damage when alive b:laugh

    ^ this & nothin' more b:laugh

Second thought: vit is nice, and seriously it's worth sacrificing 600m.dmg (a piddly 90-150 damage difference in PvP) to give yourself an extra 5-600HP unbuffed; if end-game mages have 5kHP (5k is god mode btw), then you'd have 10% more base HP (you'd have extra defense (phys. & mag.) multipliers)at the cost of 3-5% damage (unnoticeable given the weapon damage spreads).

if you know your class, why read a guide? People read guides to get information. Sure pure mag is great but i want people to choose their own path. "Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep." If people weren't creative, we will have all pure mag demon wizzies. P.S. i have 107 dex. Its something peculiar but it works for me being a crit fanatic.

Pandora: I would be, except you picked heaven, lololol.

I'm not too hot on 1 vs 1 strategy because mage is the worst 1 on 1 class in the game. Our class is focused on mass PVP...

So there you go. No. Do not play your ****ty hypothetical **** in a guide, because it doesn't work. Stack your -channel all you like but everyone wears the same armor at level 90 and none of it has that.

I'll find more later lol, Pandora said some great **** in his guide b:laugh

ironicly enough Pandora went sage... Guess he saw in time that TW-wizard = sage... To bad he quit, would be cool to finally see the difference between 100 pure (Haiz or something) and 100 light...

Pandora even said he would go arcane at 96 as long as he had the cape of elite leather. He wouldn't of stayed light at 100.
