The PWI "Which Class?" Guide

What I find very frustrating is the fact that all newbs never check the forums before posting threads asking for what's the best class or what class should they choose.
So I've decided to put together a guide which would hopefully help people choose a class to play on PWI.
HUMAN
Blademaster
Physical
Close Range
Most people would be familiar with this class as most games feature them eg/ WOW, Runescape,Guild Wars... They are the typical close-range, physical class and are able to use a whole range of weapons including swords, pole-arms, hammers, axes and the occasional fists. This class is most probably the easiest class to play thus making it one of the most popular class in the game alongside venomancers and clerics. If you like to fight up-close, like to play easy and level up quite quickly for the first 20 or 30 levels or so, this is the class for you.
Wizard
Magic Damage
Distant
The highest damage dealing class in the game alongside archers, they may seem to be the most popular class, but because of the low health and defense, it is actually one of the more unpopular ones. Another class people would be familiar with in Runescape and stuff, they are the main caster class. Having access to a huge range of magic weapons like magic swords, Wands and whatever >.<, they have the ability to deal an unbelievable amount of damage to the enemy. The wizard may sould cool, but there isn't much of a chance he/she could kill before the enemy reaches him/her. I've seen may wizards around level 20 spending half of their killing time running away to cast spells. If you like big numbers but don't mind about low defense, choose this class.
UNTAMED
Barbarian
Physical
Close Range
The resident tanks of the game, barbarians feel more at home taking damage rather than returning them. Despite the low damage, it is one of the more played class because they are "needed" in almost everything, from FB caves to TT runs and Zenning. One of the 4 classes that have a "special ability" they are able to transform into a white tiger at level 9/ The tiger form gives more HP and increases the speed, but reduces its damage. The barbarian is an okay class to level up with no distinct up-and-downs in leveling. They use hammers and/or axes and/or pole-arms and any barbarian spotted with anything else like swords and bows are referred as "dicks". They use a lot of money repairing their equipment because they're the class which take all the damage and hits. If you are the type of person who like to tank, lure, be needed, use big and impressive weapons, a barbarian is your choice.
Venomancer
Physical or Magic
Close Range or Distant
Another "special ability" class, venomancers are most famous for having the ability to tame ( or capture) pets and use them for battle. Venomancers could be a physical or Magic class because of its ability to transform into a fox with purple eyes and eye brows o_O. Personally, a physical venomancer almost totally defeats the purpose of a female blademaster even though they are really rare. Probably 90% of venomancers are magic in the game because it's easier than being a sword wielding venomancer. Venomancers can use every weapon in the game except for bows, crossbows and slingshots. They are the best solo class, the fastest class to level, and the most unchallenging class, except for heavy venos - they're like blademasters. Pets are useful, meaning they could hide behind them and safely cast spells OR GET OUT THERE AND SLICE THE WUSSES UP WITH SWORDS! If you like pets, get a veno >_>
WINGED ELF
Archer
Physical
Distant
Well, well, well.... the stereotypical archer. They are in every MMORPG game I think, and they use bows, crossbows and lousy slingshots (nah, just kidding, I just don't use them coz they look bad with full helmsey). They are the highest damage dealers alongside wizards, and are capable to kill before the enemy reaches them when they're around level 50 or 60 and above. They are also the fastest class..... with a buff which makes them go FASTER!!!!!!! They can fly from level one, byt unfortunately, as long as you have your wings unleashed, it consumes precious mana. They are an absolute PAIN to level up for the first 20 or so levels, but at level 30, when you get your first spark, everything flies. Archer is THE class to be ( please no class bashing HA HA) but you must have patience in everything. Arrows are kind of a pain as you have to buy quite alot, but with the amount of money you get from quests, you won't go broke. Archer is a good first choice, especially for people who like to kill from afar.
Cleric
Magic
Distant
Cleric, what can I say? Many people I know choose them because they think it would be the most unpopular class, but as it turns out, they're the most popular. Their Buffs are famous, and so are their resurrecting and healing spells. They are like the wizards, but does a little less damage I think, and the can fly at level 1. They don't use mana while flying which is cool for archers like me, and they, I think, have 3 metal spells? Am I correct? They are hard to level up between level twenty and thurty, and at level 30 and up, they get their first spark, their kick-**** spells and crazy stone, life starts to get easier. Clerics are for people who don't care if they don't do any damage because they're too busy healing and rezzing and buffing, and also for teleporting to town because everyone in your squad died in a cave and you have to go back and fly back to where the rest of your squad is and rez them all. Some Typos:
on archer you should really put 'Physical And Magic' just like you put 'Physical or Magic' on veno
archers are NOT the fastest class, our 15% speed buff is well...****. every other class outrun us except cleric and maybe wizard
also, BARBARIANS DO NOT HAVE MORE PDEF THAN BLADEMASTERS! BLADEMASTERS HAVE MORE!FPW > PWI b:victory0 -
Interesting guide. A few things I'd like to point out are noted below, I read them as someone who's played all the classes. Just not past 30 for most of them... yet.Onlyjayy - Heavens Tear wrote: »
Wizard
"The wizard may sould cool, but there isn't much of a chance he/she could kill before the enemy reaches him/her. I've seen may wizards around level 20 spending half of their killing time running away to cast spells."
^ Edit most of that out. Wizards (I play one) can kill things fairly easily. They are actually one of the best solo PVE classes due to low cost, high damage, and fast kill rate. The wizards you saw were actually kiting, which is one of the techniques Arcane wizards use to avoid physical damage. It isn't absolutely necessary, and Light Armor wizards usually don't do it at all.
UNTAMED
Barbarian
"and any barbarian spotted with anything else like swords and bows are referred as "dicks".
...really what? Not necessary. Barbs carrying bows is actually becoming a bit of a fad as it's nice for luring and spicing up PK - barbs don't have ranged attacks and the bow allows for that. It isn't mainstream but it is fun.

Change this to Their mana regeneration is high enough that the MP used for flying with the original wings doesn't make much of an impact. The level 30 quest wings, and CS wings, do not consume MP at all.Leader of Howl on Harshlands (Recruiting.)

But with different combos of gear, you may find the wizard class a not-so-perishable species.

You can say they are the mediums along with Blademaster, and if your eyes tend to wander off the screen alot, then their high HP and defence will certainly keep you alive for several seconds more until you realize your being hit. A luxury that Clerics and Wizards cannot afford. (lol) They use hammers and/or axes and/or pole-arms and any barbarian spotted with anything else like swords and bows are referred as "dicks". They use a lot of money repairing their equipment because they're the class which take all the damage and hits. They are one of the faster running classes. They are also the fastest class..... with a buff which makes them go FASTER!!!!!!! They can fly from level one, but unfortunately, as long as you have your wings unleashed, it consumes precious mana. Archer is a good first choice, especially for people who like if you like to kill from afar. In higher levels, due to high crits and a constant high DPS, it will be very tricky to measure aggro. You will need to know when to start and/or pause attacking, so that you do not grab aggro in squads from whoever is tanking. Most archers prefer to wear Light Armour which is considered the medium in physical and magical defenses, and it may not be the best thing you have when the mob decides to pummel you when aggro changes.
Cleric
Magic
They are hard to level up between level twenty and thirty, and at level 30 and up, they get their first spark, their kick-**** spells and crazy stone, life starts to get easier. Clerics, like the blademaster and veno, have a very versatile job in which their roll may differ according to situations and squads. They may end up fully supporting the melee teams by buffing, debuffing, and constant healing, or rare times tanking and acting as a DD to a magical mob. You will usually take the roll of being 'Nanny' of the squad, as you will have to watch everyones HP, including yours, and possible movements of other mobs around the vicinity. In solo situations the radar on the top right will be your best friend. At higher levels soloing will be fairly easy and fast due to the constant heals, buffs, and decently high damage rate.Clerics are for people who don't care if they don't do any damage because they're too busy healing and rezzing and buffing, and also for teleporting to town because everyone in your squad died in a cave and you have to go back and fly back to where the rest of your squad is and rez them all. This guide is good 50%, rest seems biased to a point where either they like the class their playing, and/or they have not played the other class to an extent. Personally if I made a guide Id never put in a quote like this cause I know id never see this on a official PWI clas guide if there was. I rarely die because of Winged Shell, after i throw it up and finish the mob off its usually cooled down. Archers should be ranked higher on the surviveabilty.b:victoryProud member of Exclusive0

This guide is two years old, meaning it pre-dates both the TB and EG expansions. You won't find them anywhere in this guide.

Huh? So I made my other characters on the archosaur server for nothing?! Omfg which one is better for me? I was looking for a class that deals damage and is strong and lvls up very fast! Is a wizard cool or what?! Because I wanna lvl up to 100. Speaking of that,CAN SOMEONE HELP ME TO THAT LVL PLZ? My assassin is lvl 30 but I'm getting bored with it. It's too slow to lvl up like that.Besides I wanted to attack from a distance.Plz make wizard the most popular, but for now just please tell me which class is more popular.I'm sure the wizard is the easiest and fastest at lvling I'm having trouble with the other classes already except the wizard O.O Help me to lvl 100 plz?0

SO hi xD! (And ik this is a uber old thread but so wha)
I play as a wizzy, i'm still rather low-ish at 73ish level I do have a take on things though :P
My take on wizzys:
Technically, they CAN heal, and up to 1k hp with manar the sombar maxed out (not including anything like books, of course, coz i haven't reached that level).
But, the heal is so slow and crappy as hell that you'll be used for support last-if you have both a cleric and a capable mys in your team, they'll die before your team asks you to heal. >> of course, i may be biased, but it IS slow as hell >.>
Wizard skills can be rather slow load compare to some other ones, depending on how you take it-of course, they also deal more damage. Mind you, in pk, an archer really WILL be better-it now has a stealth skill i believe, as well as being a fast shot-in pk, it pwns wizzys and most magic classes. If it gets to you without you seeing it.
wizzy isnt that popular coz you'll die in 3-4hits mebbe? yeah, thats it, without a hp charm or something like that. Not very good also we hit a lot, but that can also agro mobs from a tank which also isn't good-especially if it's a boss.
sins are pretty good since they have bloodpaint, whichl let you get hp back b:cool
they can clear fc rooms at high level , some very fast, whih can make money as long as fc rooms price is still high . b:shocked
anyways, if you think that wizzy levels fast, go for it, but you'll be dieing rlly super uber fast. my experience lol0 -
[QUOTE=sociotown;14927391 Help me to lvl 100 plz?[/QUOTE]
You know, why dont you try questing, paying for zhenning, boss hunts, TT, nation wars and the like? of course, some of those are to get the money that you'll need for zhenning and other things.0
