Aged pet pricing

The Cash Shop forum is for cash shop items...the Trading Post is for buying and selling but not so much for asking. So here I am with a question.

What are people's thoughts on pricing of levelled up pets? Do people assign a cost per level from the base or is there a going theory on this?

I levelled up some wolves to 27 to compare and am keeping one and selling the rest. One of them is my original Sharptooth Wolfling from level 2, it's been 25 levels of care and feeding. How do you price that?

Just to pass along the data, I wanted to compare the first 3 wolf families from http://snowbloom.110mb.com/pi.htm

Sharptooth Wolfling lvl 27:
Flesh Ream lvl1
HP: 792
Phys Atk: 342
Phys Res: 1761
Mag Res: 1937
Dam: 624
Evade: 383
Speed: 7.0 m/sec
Start Level: 2

Forest Wolfkin lvl 27:
Flesh Ream lvl2, Howl lvl1
HP: 816
Phys Atk: 290
Phys Res: 1986
Mag Res: 1820
Dam: 544
Evade: 362
Speed: 7.3 m/sec
Start Level: 18

Treeline Wolfkin lvl 27:
Flesh Ream lvl1, Sand Blow lvl 3
HP: 737
Phys Atk: 283
Phys Res: 1791
Mag Res: 1791
Dam: 491
Evade: 416
Speed: 7.9 m/sec
Start Level: 22

Leveled-up pets are very much a niche market. It'll take you a long time to find a buyer, and the prices will vary wildly. But generally speaking, only the "popular" pets will recieve any bids at all. By popular I'm referring to Golem, Sawfly and Rare Pets.

Even in that case, you may have trouble finding buyers for certain pets depending on how many have herc/phoenix. Rare pets are still good, but are spurred on more by the same people camping them, and refusing to sell below a certain price, or just outright npcing/killing it to ensure a demand.

As far as raised pets go, it really isn't profitable. If you've just replaced one with a herc/phoenix/rare, you can, at best just try to reclaim some of the money spent on skills if you happened to have raised any, pricing at about 50% cost for skills, ignoring anything related with level. Still, you'll have more luck with more commonly used pets than you will with uncommon ones, like wolves. Usually, it's best to just drop the pet in city of the lost for some random veno to pick up, and accept that the time that you would have had to spend in a cat shop trying to sell it is better spend raising your new pet, or grinding for money. If you have a faction with some venos in it, you can even try passing it off to a faction member.

good points all. I guess I'd be best off just putting a token price on it so some veno buys it for very little and at least the work put into it isn't flushed down the npc toilet.

Of the three I decided to keep the forest wolfkin...I kind of hate to part with the sharpie, after all that time, and I got the super cage so I'm not out of room, but it's eating all my time levelling 3 wolves and a turtle and a magmite and a sawfly.

Sharptooth would also cost more upgrading skills. The three weren't all that different in the end, I liked the Forest as the midrange choice and a little more durable to physical beating.

Point taken though, not a lot of people are going to recognize the value-added levels but will just see an expensive egg.

the only sort of niche market i see for this is to lv up turtles for SOLOISTS, as there are no boutique water pets (yet)

i recommend Amphibian Tortoise Kings, to the south west of plume (under the bridge).

for soloists, the turtles will need to be lvd up to 35 minimum to be useful for lv 50+ water quests

so still not worth it at all =/

better just lv yourself up & farm twilight temple starting at lv 63+, until your blue in the face...then do it until your dog is blue in the face
mmorpg is R'lyehian for: Innumerable quantities of grown babies
discussing & often complaining about the imaginary.

and after that, until your neighbor's dog is blue in the face....
Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and slap that mother#$@%#^! upside the head.
