Axemanek - Heavens Tear

Hey
I know i am not quite there yet <<< but at level 60, what weapon should i get?
i am an axe/hammer build, but i dont think that the Skeleton Axes are all that good.
So should i get Skeleton Axes or Hefty Poleaxe of Giants?
and ohh as a axe build BM can i use a poleaxe?

Good question.

Lets take a closer look at what they are and what you are looking for:

Skeleton Axes
attack rate .83
Patk-399-930
+56 Patk

Hefty Pole Axe of Giants
attack rate .91
Patk-352-372
+42 Patk
+1% crit
+8 str

Now, you can carry either being a axe hammer BM, so, no worries there.

If you have the minimum STR and Dex to carry the Pole Axe....This is what your looking at in ways of actual damage.

Skeleton Axes-1151-2333 actual damage, with a 2% crit and a 0.83 attack speed.

Hefty Pole axe-947-2365 actual damage with a 3% crit and a 0.91 attack speed.

if you average about 12 seconds per fight, that gives you one more hit with the pole axe compaired to the hand axes.

10 hits with the skeletons = 11,510-23,330 total attack over 12 seconds

11 hits with the Pole axe = 10,417-26,015 total attack over 12 seconds

I think the Pole axe is a better choice as long as the price is right. I think that with the +crit and the extra speed you will more than make up for the damage produced by the skeleton axes. And you will even get a little bit of a Pdef boost with the extra STR bonus the pole axe gives you. Not huge, but another plus to using the poleaxe. Not to mention you get a better refining bonus with the Pole axe.(+16 per refinement level compaired to +14)

Guessing though, you will spend much less in getting the skeleton axes, not sure about that, but i would assume.

WOW that is the perfect answer Bash! thank you sooo much! of course the skeleton axes are somewhat free, whereas the poleaxe ranges from 400k to 800k, so i will keep my eye open for any bargains. so your preference is the polaxe right? did you go for the axes?

hefty poleaxe yes you can use, and it will be doing more dmg if you just attack without skills, but it's also twice as expensive as the skeleton axes. To be honest I just chose skeleton axes and spent the money on calamities instead.

yeah but it is a long time til i can get calamities, and i can sell the poleaxe nearer the time and buy calamities then, so i think i will be getting the poleaxe even though the axes look cooler xD

Last time around I was a sword BM. I used the illusive lunar cutlass...+5 i believe.

I carried axes but didnt have the STR to carry the latest, I used the Raging Lion Claws.

This time around I am stated to use Axes or Poles...My major would prolly be pole. So, if I ever get around to hitting 60 again, I would be going with the Petrified pole, then if I can get my hands on the Hefty, I would carry that also.
