Barbarian Advice?

After testing 3 classes out, I have decided to roll a barb for my main character.

I'm currently following the tank build as outlined here: http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=63271

I do want to be a tank barb. I've heard that leveling tiger skills is a must, and that grinding is best done in Tiger Mode.

However, I definitely plan on PvPing later (Lost City b:chuckle)

Any advice (skill-wise, build-wise, gear-wise, genie-wise, etc.) for a new tank that wants to PvP? b:dirty

    Well, I would lvl up using tiger from then when your a high lvl and have plenty of sp left over start buying humaniod skills, but until then only buy tiger skills. For your genie the skills you should get are:

    Tree of protection: heals you completely
    Cauterize: stops bleeding
    A skill that stops sleep-(can't remeber the name)

    you will understand why when ur around lvl 55. a lot of teh mobs r magic.

    but when grinding phys atk mobs humanoid is better.

    lol tiger mode damage is a joke it would take forever to grind in tiger, may as well kill your mobs quicker in humanoid. Tiger mode skills I leveled are Ream,Alacrity and sunder (duno I just got it), leave all the others at 1 to get chi. If your gonna pk, you definetly need humanoid. beside those magick atk mobs only attack you once at the start wid magic then do physical damage when you get in front of them, also the magic atk doesnt really count for shet now that genies are out wid Tree of Protection.

    I disagree. Maybe until the 30s I used to humanoid grind.

    But since the 30s I do all my grinding in tiger. The tiger form damage reduction is 50% of weapon attack. So actually (with titans) you end up doing about 30% less damage in tiger than humanoid. If you have a maxed poison fang, then it further reduces the gap to about 20% less damage.
    Now in tigerform I get 60% extra pdef and 30% extra hp, plus I can cancel magical mob casting (alclarity), I can reduce enemy pdef by 50% (devour>penetrate) and I can periodically heal myself (sunder).

    True, humanoid does do more damage and has more (although imho crappy) aoes. But the reduced defense and HP just make for more charm burn.

    Lol I'm not the one who said grinding in Tiger Mode is the best.

    That's just what I heard. =\

    So, any advice for a PvP barb?

    um, im over level 85, and i never grind in tiger, not enough DD moves, its slow and pathetically painful.

    im over 85 too... and i always grind in tigerform... lmao

    although now with tree of protection its actually ok to grind in humanoid since you can heal yourself.
    its a bit faster, but grinding in humanoid without a means to heal is gonna cost you a fortune in pots/charms which id rather spend on other things

    with solid shield, my charm ticks about once every 5-6 mobs, not bad at all.

    get some life powder and focus powder and im sweet..... no pots, no nothing.. just a tree of proection every 10 mins or so.
    Oh and if you wanna pvp.. i guess youll need to max Blood Bath asap. ummm, use Calamitys????? they're pretty hard to get though.. but HEAPS of ppl seem to have em, like I see more ppl wid Calamitys than the easier ones to get like Thunderbolts... but id rather get the hh80 golds, i dont like getting 5% hp taken off every zerk.
