Is this normal?

i've been doing TT1-2 squad mode, this is the 2nd time i fight vipenalt and my herc got blown up standing in the position in the following image, i really found it awkward because i thought kiss of death only does damage at the back of the room and meither of me and the herc moved at all. i couldn't take a screen shot of me dead but i did hit the prtscr by accident like way b4 it happened

i wanted to try kill vipenalt afterwards and found the hands still there and as soon as i go in i get blown up. screen shot:

are both things stated above suppose to happen?

Yep. Pretty much, once they appear you shouldn't move in those rooms period. They usually only spawn in places where people aren't standing. The bad news is that your herc doesn't count as people.

You and your herc have to stand in the middle of the room, the hands near to the wall will explode no matter you move or not.
The hands will not go away once they show up unless the boss is dead, so yes you can not go back to that room again, and you can not lure the boss out with your pet.
