Running on the spot

Im getting a strange running on the spot thing happening when i play. The character becomes unresponsive and literally keeps running on the spot. I tried to see if anyone has had this problem but didnt spot anything. The only way to fix it seems to be relogging which gets to be a bit of a pain. Any ideas ?
System is
Vista 32bit SP1 with all latest updates
Geforce 8800GTX 185.85
4 gig ram
2.67 intel quad core
creative sound card SB-FXi
