The system will be able to handle it but realize that bandwidth lag will still be an issue (West Archasaur will still lag). All and all though Oh yeah it will run nicely.

ugh, intel graphics=bad idea for games, look for something with a cheapish graphics card in it (some nvidia or ati card with 128+memory, preferably doing some research on quality using tomshardware or just a search)

seems itll run pwi, but not much else, kinda a waste

a 3 year old comp could be high end 6k+usd or low end 500 usd, it being 3 years old means...nothing? not to mention you bought a dell...

same price, smaller screen nearly 3x higher 3dmark 06 score, but thats just form a quick search

bang for buck asus >hp/dell/sony 9/10 times

English translation of Mosz's post: You probably have a 3-year old laptop with a decent video card. A mid-level GPU on a 3-year old laptop would run circles around the latest Intel integrated video card in the laptop OP posted.

When i travel, I run PWI on my laptop with an old Intel 945 graphics chip. It does a passable job on the game with lowered settings. But if at all possible, get a laptop with a real video card in it - generally something by AMD or nVidia, not Intel. You'll get at least 2x-3x the framerate as from the Intel 4500. If you get something with a mid-level video card, you'll get closer to 10x the framerate (or 2x-5x with the options cranked up).

I wouldn't say easily but it'll run it.

Not max settings. I looked over the specs and right off the bat I could tell that this thing isn't made for gaming. The processor is slow and the vid card is onboard + uses shared ram. So it's gonna be sucking your system ram while you play. Bad cpu + integrated video w/ shared memory = problems. Especially true for this game. :p

It'll run but don't expect too much.

ATI or Nvidia. AMD and Intel are just distributors. It would be better to tell people to look for ATI or nVidia cards so they don't get confused when shopping. ;o

I want to play Perfect World. Apparently it broke my last laptop because the screen graphics were going all funny. And then it completely and fully blanked out. So like, I'm downloading it again, but afraid it will blow out and I'll need to buy ANOTHER laptop. Is it safe for me to use it? I have like 223GB free.

Could just be your integrated graphics card, that's my problem.

My laptop has better specs than some desktops but the graphics card (128 mb chipset) sucks *** >.>

Having integrated graphics doesnt mean you cant run PWI or cant run it well, you just need to think and run your computer cleanly.

Running Vista or XP? Turn OFF all that shiny ****. Make it look like 98 and trust me, applications run so much better.

Windowed mode comes with penalties as your computer has to draw your desktop and any other open windows too, fullscreen allows you to turn things up a bit. Alt + Tabbing is just as good if you want to cruise the forums ;)

Effects. Shadows are a nono on shared. Hell, even on a good graphics card, theyre the first thing to turn off if things look choppy.

Warp is only really noticeable in the water so you can dump that too.

Sharpen makes things look cleaner, but can slow things down a lot. I personally leave this on, because it makes a real difference but it can go too.

Soften is up to you, but a lot of people turn it off because it makes things too bright, its impact is low on performance.

Trees, flowers, grass, Clouds. Theyre the best bit about the game, and where most of its beuty lies, but clouds can be turned off and youl never notice them.

Aaaand Water. Water is the thing that does the damage. If you want water to look nice, youl have to sacrifice power elsewhere, such as lowering textures or grass / trees.

Textures. this is the big one, high textures means high demand on resources. I personally use medium out and about PKing and stuff, but put it on high when im mobbing or in an instance and anywhere occasional jumps wont affect me.

I run on a laptop similar to this : http://www.uktechsupplies.com/StoreFront/evolution_product.html?Product=samsung-15.6-t4200-4500gb-multi-dl-wc-vh-dvmt&idProduct=111032

    ---

Essentially, any good modern computer or laptop can run PWI and make it look good and run smoothly. The less powerful your comp is, the more you have to work to make it work. :)

    ---

Oh, and for Shared Graphics, maintenence is key.

One of the PW staff actually knows what he's on about :o :

    http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showpost.php?p=4613242&postcount=43

Read it, its a pro post, and all that stuff is damn important if you run on shared :)

Id recommend MyDefrag over Windows XP / Vista's pile o crud btw.

Wrong. AMD and Intel are CPU Manufacturer's, a while ago though AMD bought ATI and they have done a hell of a lot with ATI, for the most part AMD Products are just as good if not better then Intel/Nvidia and quite a lot cheaper
