    Hi.

    1. The tanker build is basically the piece of meat. We have high hp points as well as high physical defense, with average, but not the most damage. Most tanks are all in tiger form because of the increase in Defense and HP.

    2. It is indeed possible to only use tiger form. I am currently a level 45 tank and have never faught outside of tiger form ( Except for the beginning levels)

    3.Refer to 2.

    4. My advice as a Tank myself is not give up, it might be a little frustrating having some of your damage cut while being in tiger form but may I remind you. We are a tank. We hold aggro while others dish out the damage. As for stats. What I have been doing is just have enough strength and dex for equipment load the rest into vit. As for skills, I myself being a tank have only upgraded tiger skills and buffs. Flesh Ream is your Aggro holder so you will deffinatly want to max that, Alacarty of the beast is also good to max for the cancelation of skills ( Very handy especially on bosses ) Basically what I'm saying is any tiger skill Basicallly max. You are a tank after all.

Good luck with your tank, I hope my response could help you in any way.

Please people dont flame on me if any advice I have given is wrong, I'm just going with my personal experience which has seemed to work quite well.

One of the guides has a strength/dex progression chart. I have been following that. Allocate all spare points to vit. I have been sticking to the tiger so far and have been freely leveling the tiger skills, I have yet to run out of spirt so I don't need to pick and choose yet. I have also been levelling the hp buff skill.

To give yourself an easier time I would level garotte up till you get true form at level 9.

You can;t compete at damage dealing and at some points I struggled, on the high teens I was having to rest after every 3 or 4 mobs. I can keep going much longer now. If you squad with a cleric you are indestructable (until they run out of mana).

Just seen you are on Lost City, its a PVP server so you may want to follow the human skills, they are better for that.

Or jump from Tiger Form into humanoid when battling, with the new 6s colldown, life's a breeze, since it also allows you to pursue your prey RAWR

Main tank build is 2 vit 3 str every level, just add enough dex for armour requirements. What I would recommend at a higher level (60s) is to get equipment with +vit imbued
    ....also genies.....what to dob:cry

    I would recommend:

Tree of Protection: completely restores your HP in 6s and also increasesit in 35 % for 3s (combo that with Perdition b:victory) what makes a Barb truly annoying when you're about to kill him and he suddently regenerates b:pleased

BloodClot: if you don't like the phoenixes bleed b:surrender

I'm still checking other skills, although I saw one that hits for 900 metal damage... that's pretty scary

These guys advice is really spot on. But one thing I might like to comment on.

    Herc

These are bad **** we all know this and we know there is a difference between them and us. But its posible you may want to change your build some if you find that you group/squad with a veno quite often. Hard to say really would depend on what you wish to do and acomplish in game as to where you should head and deal out the points.

    Clr/Barb is the win!!!!

    Just a thought.

One thing I would recomnmend is to work with a long term strategy in mind in terms of levelling skills if you are using both forms. You have enough spirt at level 9 to buy anything you want but that's going change pretty quickly and you are going to need to be selective over what you level/buy.

If you just stick to one form and ignore the skills of the other you pospone this 'pick and choose' situation. I'm no expert at PVP but you at least have 20 levels to get your build right.

question #2. is it possible to only use tiger form?

I never used human form until level 60+, so yes you can be tiger form most if not all the time. Tiger form is what you use to tank bosses, so if you want to be a tank barb, focus on tiger skills first. The other skills you can work on later.

Yes. But fighting in tiger form deals less damage, therefore battles take longer.

I solo quest most of the time, so I fight in humanoid form. However, in high aggro situations, I will change into tiger for the added HP and defense.

I almost entirely fight in humanoid form because you deal out alot more damage. The downside is your repair bills are very high.

Tiger for me is if i have time on my hands and wanna save some cash and when playing with friends.

I use tiger form all the time - I mean really, I barely ever use humanoid form. I see it being pointless. The amount of defense and HP you gain by being in tiger by far means more than the damage penalty you get. To put it this way: fights might take more time, but the ability to attack non-stop, without using a single potion is just priceless. Besides most mobs around this level do magic attack - without alacrity it would be a real pain to kill them.

I use both forms for two reasons.

    1) Tanker (tiger) form is great when you are soloing and this is what I want to be the most.

    2) Humanoid for support for when there is a larger barb and/or herc/magmite in party...or I just wanna deal damage.

    Hi,

I'm a 21 barb on Lost City server, im an ex WoW PvP player so i love it. I really like the barb class and a guy in my guild recommended 4 str 1 vit even lvls then 3 str 1 dex 1 vit odd lvls.... I'm wondering if barb is good at PvP high lvl? Or should i try a diff class? I'm open to opinions or options.
    Thank You

Tiger form is the best for grinding, unless you don't mind spending a lot of money on pots; check this out:

Alacrity of the Beast: interrupt, means mobs can't hit you with magic damage.
Shapeshifting Intensity: + 60 % armour defense in tiger form.
    True form: +30 % HP

Use Tree of Protection instead of HP potions. I just got my barb to 24 and I've hardly used an HP potion since I got Tree of Protection at lvl 10. The genie's stamina's easy to keep up between drops and crafting practice, too. My genie's at 95K+ stamina (starts at 20K) and I haven't bought a single stone.

Tanker build is basically 6str/1dex/3vit Or something very close to that. You dont need more than 6str every other level. Somthing that I toyed with was up till level 25 I went with 6str/3dex/1vit, then switched to the 6/1/3...I went with building dex early to eliminate some of the constant missing you deal with on lower levels. This has proven to me to be solid, and now with a decent dex base I am building Vit.

With this build, at level 35 now, my stats are as follows

    Str-107
    Dex-44
    Vit-34

This gives me a base hp of just over 1700, and also gives me a 3% crit

As far as fighting in tiger form, I think, as has been said already, for normal PvE grinding, tiger form is really the way to go. But feel free to go with both.

I have been in a handful of Fb19's with this toon and usually go human form, due to the fact that there is a higher level bard doing the tanking.

    Good luck
Don't let my level confuse you. I've done this before.
