Am i doing the right thing?

Dagnatic - Sanctuary

ok so im lvl 20 as you proably can tell
my mage is 14
my vit is 11
my str is 59
and my dex is 40 (not postive on this one)
is that the right thing to have atm im putting 3 on str and 2 on dex per lvl
is that the right thing to be doing or have i totaly stuffed this up
if some one could shed some light on this it would be grate cheers

as you are from sanctuary, i assume you are going for a tank build?

your dex is too high for your lvl. at lvl20, dex should be about 14 and you will need a lot more vit than what you have now. it should be well in the 30s.

DO NOT ADD ANY POINTS IN MAG. you are low mp and that's what the potions are for. you get next to no benefits from mag. with the points placed in vit or dex, you'll get much better returns

i think you should start a new character, i mean its only lv 20. And if your going to make a new character, read the guide by Dai and skills guide from xKwisite.

im not going to start a new one at this point it will take me another 3 weeks to get to this stage but
ill do my best to put it back on track now
by puting every thing on vit one lvl and every thing on str the next lvl till im at what i should be

You don't say what you are aiming for, but if you are going for the standard tank build you'll be level 70 before you get back on track (according to the guide). Its the 40 dex that's the big problem, have you considered reset scrolls?

If you are trying a dex build then good luck, the players who wrote the guides appear to be saying you'll need it.

I was in exactly the same situation as you (at the same level) and justed started again, it didn't take half as long to get back to 20 second time round.

I have considerd reset scrolls but there are a few problems with that
1. dont know where to get them
2. dont know how much they cost
and
3. they are proabably 2 expensive

Im not nesaserialy going for a Tank im just going by what
i need for the next lvl of armor
i only realized i had some thing wrong when i dint have
enough str to ecwipt a wepon that was for my lvl

Reset scrolls are in the cash shop. It's worth having a browse through just to understand what real money will buy you in the game. To get your dex and mag down to where they should be will probably cost you about $20 I can't remember the gold cost of reset scrolls so may be wrong (and I'm at work so can't look).

The cash shop is available by clicking on the little gold icon by the side of the minimap (in case you didnt know).

you can correct all that in a couple of lvls... although the magic will stick around

just dont add any dex at all before lvl 80 or so, and add 3 str 2 vit each lvl.

still gets you stuck with the magic though, if you really wanna get rid of that starting over would be quickest, lvl 20 can be done in 1 or 2 days if you know that to do.

Reminds me of the stats on my first Barb. Too much MAG, too much DEX too early, and not enough of the other stuff. I played him until level 33 (IIRC) before I decided to just re-roll. I found I just couldn't do anything I needed to do very well. Despite the dex and str, it took me forever to kill one enemy. I couldn't tank anything, because my vit was way too low. And I still ran out of mana (whatever you call it) despite all the points I put (wasted) in it.

My new Barb is doing MUCH better. I follow the equipment req.'s I found somewhere on this forum, favoring dex just a little because I solo alot. Just use pots (life powder and the mag regen you can make at lvl 30) and you can pretty much keep killing non stop.b:pleased

People seem to underestimate the WB power. Personally I think WB has the most flexibility than any other class in choices of build. I am currently using a pure str build and kill mobs much quicker, and have so much Pdef in tiger that tanking is just as simple as it was with pure vit build. I have also tried in other servers builds with alot of dex, and it truly is the Archer killer. Str then Agi then Con is also a very nice build. Don't let anyone tell you a build is sub par when they havent even tried it.

There is no ultimate WB build, it's all to preferences. And trust me, WB is the most underestimated class in this game.

This is my idea
im going (well thinking of) to
get my str to what ever it should be for the lvl i will be on by that lvl
and then from there on in do 3 str 2 vit
insted of my usual (what stuffed me up) 3 str 2 dex

and then i will start corecting my vit while keeping my Str at the right lvl
