Shadou Cub vs Herc

I just recently aquired a Shadou Cub(lvl 20) and I've been told a Shadou Cub is better then a herc. If they were both lvl46 like me which would be better for tanking let's say a Untamed fb19?

    that person is an idiot.

    herc has twice the attack of shaodu, and nearly 3x its defense/mdef. and about 1000 more hp. stack bash on them, and hercs reflect skill, and you have an aggro holding tanking god.

    there is no better tank than herc, dont let anyone tell you otherwise.

    the only thing that makes it better is it costs less to get one and kept fed if you dont have a tome.

    ya I used a Shadou Cub as my only land pet until lvl 77. They have good overall Def, but Even Magmite is better physical Tank. Also you really have to up their skills for it to keep agro in a group.

    Then I got a Herc. It is not even close. When herc was 20 lvls lower they had about the same physical def, and that was before the hercs buffs.

    Though if you arnt planning on tanking too many bosses The cub will work just fine for you.

    Let me just repeat what the other two posters have already said.

    The Herc is much better than the Cub.

    Without buffs, the Herc has a little bit better magical and physical defense, as well as more HP and a higher attack.

    But it is the buffs that make the Herc so powerful. They increase both magical and physical defense a whooping 150%, as well as reflect 90% of damage.

    So if you look up the Herc stats, at first it only looks like it has slightly better defense than other strong pets. But don't forget the buffs. They are what make the Herc so godlike.
