upgrading pet speed

i currently have 80 of those wing widgets and a pet from the boutiqe. when i go to upgrade the pet to using those 80 widgets, it doesnt show that i have them in my inventory. it says i need 80 to get to x amount of m/s but it says 0/80 are on me....what is going on?
