Are you really "saving" by not teleporting?

Well, the mount also lets you run between sites without a direct teleport, so its utility is much greater than a teleport. I'm kinda looking at it as: I paid for the mount to let me travel between random spots faster. The fact that it also lets me travel between spots where I can teleport is a freebie. Course in most cases the teleport still wins even if you consider the mount to be free.
