Well I decided to give PWI a try, in the process of downloading it now, is this game fun? I've been playing WoW and i'm really sick of it.. 3 80's and got most of my gear in Naxx already. I'm looking for a game that'll last me until Aion and Blade and Soul release, would this game do it for me? b:victory

Well it sure does it for me. We all have to make that decision ourselves I guess.

Me? I played EQ2 for 5 years before playing this. And I love it!

there's actually a scroll you can buy from the item mall that'll increase the experience you gain by 50%, but it only lasts one hour

Oh, well I was reading through the server threads and can you PvP on a PvE server? How does PvE/PvP server works here? I can't wait to play the game b:cry

PVP on a PVE server works a couple different ways to be honest. You can make yourself PVP enabled by hitting a button on your screen. And guilds in this game conquer land on the map, by fighting wars with others guilds. These battles take place every weekend. A guild attacks another guild who holds a land, and the winner after the fight gets to keep the land for at least a week, or whenever another guild attacks that land, and defeats the guild who owns it. These TW's as we call them, can be great battles, with each guild being able to have 80 members on each side fight all at the same time. Trying to destroy each others crystal, which ends the fight.

PvP server is open PvP right? Think i'll play on a Pve server first and see how things are. That TW thing seems fun, can't wait to try it out b:dirty

Don't get too excited for TW. Unless you start out on a server that is only a few months old, TW will be very unlikely for any new player unless you level very quickly and learn your class very well. Right now, the big guilds have basically already been decided on the newest servers, and I doubt that any new guilds, unless formed by a bunch of high levels, will stand a chance in TW. However, overall, I believe you will enjoy this game.

Oh.. well, another question, is there a penalty from death? Like lost of xp or lost of items?

Well the facts an above poster said about the TW's is not completely correct. I can only speak of the server I play on. But I assume the same goes for the other servers as well. There is a few factions who dabble in TW's who aren't the BIG guilds he was talking about. Sure they lose, and pretty much have no chance to win, but that doesn't mean the people who play in these guilds aren't having fun. And it can be a good teaser, and learning process for someone who wants more in the future once they reach a high level.

The BIG power guilds usually field field war parties all in the 80s and 90s. With maybe a 100 thrown in the mix. They usually recruit players in the 80+ range. While the casual TW guilds recruit much lower level characters, and frequently field teams with 50s and even some lower thrown in. But as I said earlier, they really don't have a chance to win, but they still have fun.

In TW there is no penalty for death. In fact you will die many times usually. You just respawn, and return to the fight. No XP loss, and no lost gear either.

    ======================================

When you flag yourself to PK (player Kill) pvp mode, you will lose items when killed. But there is ways to avoid this also. So it's not so bad.

Okay well, the pvp and pve server is that pvp forces you into pk mode after 30 while in pve you get to choose it and once you are in pk mode, it lasts ten hours. If you are someone who enjoys killing others or some guys ksed you and you really want to kill him, go to pvp cause they have no choice but to let you attack them while in pve, the guy can ks you as many times as you want and you cant do anything.

TW is something really fun and make sure you join a good guild for that. Good meaning one which can put up a fight and is really fun to be in.

For lvling in this game, from 1-36, i basically lvled up on quests. After that, you would need a little grinding and it gets tough at maybe 60???

For death, when you die, you lose xp and that is what you wont want to lose at higher lvls. In pvp server, you pk people and they kill you, you drop items. Well I am not sure about the rest of the calculations but just be aware that losing items is possible.

And also, a normal PvE death can result in EXP loss. If you get rezzed by a cleric your chances for losing EXP are lessened, but if you die from a mob, and have to be sent back to town, you will lose EXP....Most likely you will die little or not at all from levels 1-20.

lowe leveling is quick. Up until about 40 or so, you will be able to live pretty much on doing quests. But after that you will have to grind a bit to level.

I play WoW occasionally and have to say that I prefer this, partially cause it has no cost to me unless I want it to. You can play the game just fine never spending real money. You can even Exchange in game coin for boutique gold(real money) at the auction houses.
Don't let my level confuse you. I've done this before.

Also you must not forget, this game has a feature most others do not.

If your a dude, make a male character, cuz you can pick up ladies, and carry them around, give them rides, and even kiss them while holding them. The gals love it. Just thought I'd throw that little tidbit in there, hehe.
