Read the [thread=271662]Fist Blademaster debate on Light armour (among other things)[/thread] and then my advice is to make up your own mind according to which argument you agree with/want to follow.
You're still low level, so all is not lost and you can fill out your stats where necessary as you go along.
On the other hand, if you've invested in MAG, which really as a Blademaster you don't need (end of story), then it might be advisable to start new. Level 14 is easily caught up.
You shouldn't have any Skill worries at this stage as there's not much you can chose and skill.
My advice for your stat division...
-- Be sure of your weapon choice.
-- Go to the Blacksmith and check the STR and DEX requirements for the weapons that are your level and about 10 levels higher. =>write them down
-- Go to the Tailor and do the same with armour for your level and about 10 levels higher.
If you do this neatly on spreadsheet (Excel) you'll get a table of how you NEED to divide your stat points in order to be able to wear your gear. At this point you MAY have leftover points. If you do decide for yourself where you want to stick them. VIT gives more health, STR gives more Attack and DEX gives more accuracy and increases your crit rate (with every 20 points).
If you stick to fists my guess is that you want to invest in DEX because you want to evade lots and crit lots. But then I'm only a mere amateur who knows his way around the blademaster.0 -
thank you i still would like to know if anyone has a skill guide for a fist bm or stat guide0

Reading Batseba's reply, I was thinking to myself...
What more could you ask for? A calm, neutral, objective yet assertive response. Perfect, just perfect.
But then really... What more could you ask for?thank you i still would like to know if anyone has a skill guide for a fist bm or stat guide
There you go.
If a 'cookie-cutter-fist-BM' guide is what you are looking for, I highly doubt if there is any. Which fist build is considered the uber bestest when the entire fist-BM population is not generally accepted as a 'common' way to build a BM to begin with?
Her link to you, is basically the best answer there is so far b:chuckle0 -
Plus... (Yeah, I actually found something to add to that)
In terms of skills, you're currently on low level, so you get to select the same skills as every other Blademaster.
Level 1 Tiger Maw
-- people generally advise against any further skilling.
Level 3 Draw Blood
-- I kinda like this, but it's generally ignored. Personal choice if you want to skill it and I guess it would depend a bit on the weapon damage on your fists/claws and I'm not the person to ask there.
Level 6 Drake's Ray
-- I guess it's a nifty range attack, but then only in the early game. Not really any further skilling advisable.
Level 9 Stream Strike
-- nice, but mainly a PvE skill. I haven't skilled it any further than necessary.
Level 9 Cloud Sprint
-- Added Speed, when would that not be handy. Skill it, but only if you got the Spirit/Money
Level 13 Aura of the Golden Bell
-- Increased Phys Def, Bonus! (Hr hr hr)
See Cloud Sprint
Level 16 Alter Marrow Magical
-- Increase your Mag Def to the cost of your Phys Def. Meh. If you intend to hit on Element only mobs every once in a while skill it, but not too high and only ifyou got the Spirit/Money. Most monsters are Phys only or a mix so you won't want to give up your Phys Def.
Level 19 Aeolian Blade
-- this will come in handy for you because of the possible stun. Nice damage too. I'd skill this one.
Level 23 Roar of the Pride
-- another stun, albeit an AoE stun so you might want to approach it with caution as you'r 1on1 fighter. spose it might do for PvP (any comments?).
Level 23 Alter Marrow Physical
-- Yeah, more Phys Def (less Mag Def), gimme, gimme! Skill it if you have to Spirit/Money. It's not long lasting as the Golden Bell so having to activate it time and again can be tedious.
Level 26 Ocean's Edge
-- read Lyndura's comments on it in her [thread=143481]Blademaster Guide[/thread]
Level 29 Tiger Leap
-- a chance to get close to the enemy really quickly? Hell yeah! Skill it when you got spare points.
Level 29 Leap Back
-- need a getaway option quickly? Again, [thread=143481]Lyndura's comments[/thread] are to the point.
Level 29 Diamond Sutra
-- This is your very own Blademaster heal yourself skill. You'll want this skill. Skill it as a main skill! Always!!!
Level 34 Fan of Flames
-- AoE. Be cautious about its use as you don't want too many mobs on you. level 1 for the next skill. not more.
Level 44 Drake Sweep
-- another AoE. I suppose it's arguable that you could ignore Fan of Flames and Drake Sweep altogether because you're not an AoE fighter. Then again if you want to play in TW you might wan to damage multiple players. Your personal choice mate.
============
These are your base skills. Everyone has them, no matter what weapon they use.
Now for your Fist Skills I suggest you look at ecatomb's fansite which has this nifty skill calculator that tells you what skill does what damage at what level. Play around with it, see what skill does more damage with your weapon and then skill accordingly. Use common sense.
And I think that I'm afraid that this is as much help as I can be. But you never know.

Bats

[edit]As one of her many disciples I really ought to give credit to Lyndura. If you want omre information on the base skills, read her guide (link provided). I know she does not endorse the Fist "genera" of the Blademaster species but she sure knows a thing or two about Blademasters.[/edit]0 -
Ok...now I am not saying I support or do not support a fist BM build. But this is what I would do if I was to be a fist BM.
Stat for heavy armor. 5str 4 dex...1 left over take 1 vit IMO every two levels.
Ok...this is how I would play that build...I would actually be a hybrid Fist and Spear user. And this is why. You would use your fists for PvE 1v1 and latter levels use them in TT runs. Now you have the stats to use spear, and by grabbing select skills in each tree you will balance out your fist BM weaknesses with the Spear tree's strengths.
Now with that being said..you will not grab spear skills till later. Maybe starting in the 60's....perhaps 50's....anyways it will be your decision on whether or not to do so. Or just keep on with the fist build.
Anyways, I disagree with above poster statement's on several skills.
Level 3 Draw Blood
-- When using fists this skill will be really not be needed. But a true fist users opinion is needed.. As a axe/hammer user i found this skill to be useful up till the 50's range. And use it occasionally when 1v1' opponents with extra def. If you take the spear route you will want to max this skill in order to stack your bleeds.
Level 13 Aura of the Golden Bell
-- Increased Phys Def, Bonus!
Max this skill ASAP
Level 19 Aeolian Blade
-- this will come in handy for you because of the possible stun. Nice damage too. Max this skill. Its a great opener against opponents. And a necessary stun chance for your arsenal.
Level 23 Roar of the Pride
-- another stun, albeit an AoE stun so you might want to approach it with caution as you'r 1on1 fighter. spose it might do for PvP (any comments?).
My comment on this one is that it will be necessary for you when in a party in dungeon runs or TT's. Or if you do TW's. Level when you can afford it. try to get it close to/or maxed if you start using your spear to AoE grind.
Level 29 Diamond Sutra
-- This is your very own Blademaster heal yourself skill. Do not max this skill. Unnecessary. Most of the healing comes from the 20% jump. Level as you see fit. Mine is at 5.
Level 34 Fan of Flames
-- AoE. Be cautious about its use as you don't want too many mobs on you. level 1 for the next skill. not more. You will want to level this when you start to AoE gring with spear not a priority AoE. Level when you have spare SP
Level 44 Drake Sweep
-- another AoE. I suppose it's arguable that you could ignore Fan of Flames and Drake Sweep altogether because you're not an AoE fighter. Then again if you want to play in TW you might wan to damage multiple players. Your personal choice mate. You will want to level this when you start to AoE grind no a priority AoE. Level when you have spare SP
Now on to fist skills. Since I am suggesting a Hybrid weapon user. We will be trying to save some SP points so you can get the most bang for your buck..
Please understand that a fists standard attack is what makes it good. Skill spamming is unnecessary and a waste for a fist BM.
Lvl 29 Vacuous Palm -
Leave at level 1
Lvl 39 Shadowless kick -
leave at level 1. You will be using this skill for its canceling ability as an opener attack on magic mobs. And eventually in TT runs to cancel boss aoe's ( but you will never cancel as well as a barb. Your cool down is just too long.
Lvl 49 Cyclone Heel -
You will want to try and keep up with this skill. It makes you a DPS monster. Max if you can.
lvl 59 Drake's Breath Bash -
If you have gone the spear fist hybrid you won't need this skill IMO.
Fist mastery - Level this is your priority skill
I am busy at work. I will post some spear skills to get that will balance this build into a fine killing machine.Retired

Interesting...
I think I'll subscribe to this one.
Thanks for your comments AdvanceZero0 -
Roar of the Pride has worked great for me. I use it when I close to melee ranged mobs, prevents them from running once attacking starts. Also gets used as my 2nd interrupt when attacking mobs 6 lvls higher than me, or with inc def/life.
Cyclone Heel isn't much of a priority. Said it in previous posts, lvl 10 Cyclone Heel with fists = 1.6 attack speed. -.1 Interval = 1.66 attack speed all on its own. So more useful as AoE than a speed up until getting properly geared up.0 -
Alright,
First I would like to apologize for taking so long to finish up my previous post/ramblings.
Nice to see some input by a fist user. I appreciate it. Please feel free to critique my imaginative BM.
Now on to the Spear skills. Once again we are assuming you will be primarily using fists. But since Fists aren't skill dependent you should/will have sp to buy up some Spear skills, hypothetically speaking.
Level 29 Piercing Winds
-A BM will need to attain level 1 to get other skills. You might need for AoE grinding. Lyndura suggests leaving it at level 2 for awhile. (Anyways you will most likely be saving your spark for other skills) Since you will still be soloing a lot at this point level 1 is probably best for awhile.
Level 39 Farstrike
-This skill is powerful and ranged. I would invest some levels in this skill. If I had this skill I would use it for many things. I would use this skill to pull aggro from a luring veno. Or a creature trying to run away from you. (Especially air mobs) Or an add that got by and was going after a cleric.
Level 49 Meteor Rush
-This skill will allow a BM to get a breather. Its a mass knock-back skill. Useful in many circumstances...taking too much damage and Roar of Pride is on cool down...knock back....squishes getting attacked....Roar and knock back...etc..etc.. Level when you can afford it. This will be needed for AoE grinding.
Level 59 Glacial Spike
-Now a second spark is available and when using fists the Sparks will be used for eruption (when solo). But in groups a BM will find themselves using it for this skill. This will allow the whole group to capitalize on the effect this skill inflicts. (In TT's this will let Veno's pets and other members deal a good deal more damage. Not worth it to use sparks for an eruption you get more out of your sparks as a group with this skill.) Level as you can afford it.
And passive spear skill. I think it depends on how much you find yourself using the spear. Level as you see fit.( I would keep it maxed. But then again I would play this build as a Spear/Fist build. Not Fist/Spear.)
Well...I hope I have entertained you all with my imagined hybrid.
Have fun!! And feel free to critique. Lyn what do you think??Retired
