Update Won't Work

Gaaah....I'm trying to download the newest update with the zoom/pvp filter/GENIES but it won't work. It's freezing on me and this new window keeps popping up, saying something this: "Error while downloading...try again?"

The update keeps stopping at this particular point and I've been trying for several hours right now, always clicking the 'try again' button but it keeps STOPPING NOT GOING ANYWHERE....

is there something I'm doing wrong?

    Oh yes and I read that post the GM's put up at the top of Tech Support Zone about how to fix erroneous patches. I'm trying to exit and reenter and try try try again but so far the trying is failing...still stopping at the same place

    did the same to me, then it froze and uninstalled itself. now i cant get it to reinstall. HELP

    PS. there are no genies. They didnt come out yet.

    Ok. But the update STILL is lagging and it's been 4 hours already...the file says
    UPDATING
    tasks.data

    Have you tried the manual patches?
