Low Level Ruining High Level Event

I'm gonna fink on my girlfriend. As I've mentioned earlier, she's evil, so she deserves it.
There was a wraith battle today at Sumor Camp, which means the wraiths were level 51. Now, as we all know, the rule of wraith battles is that only characters 20+ levels above the mobs need apply. I don't know exactly how this rule came into effect, but as discussed on this thread (http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=238482) the GMs have refused to install some sort of level cap, which according to the established rules of QQ means the event is supposed to be unfair to low levels.
So anyway, some innocent level 76 happened to be there doing his GM-sanctioned level 51 wraith battle. The guy was just minding his own business, doing what you're supposed to do at wraith events (ie. killing everything as fast as you can and not getting any drops because you're way higher level than the mobs), when suddenly my evil girlfriend shows up.
With her mighty level 46 Veno.
And starts kill stealing the level 51 wraiths.
From the level 76.
Yes, that's right, I'm as shocked as you are that she would do something so patently unfair. She ruined the guy's event, a fact which can be confirmed by him sending her several messages to "back off", accompanied with clever re-spellings of popular swear words in order to bypass the profanity filter.
The victimized level 76 shall remain nameless, since he's already been through enough. It would be a shame if his character's name leaked out and people snickered under their breath whenever his character walked by in-game.
Because nobody wants to be known as the level 76 who QQd at a wraith event because a level 46 heavy veno and her Jaden Quinfu (yes, you're reading that correctly) kept kill stealing him.

My thoughts exactly. To be honest, I would have had a hard time believing it if I hadn't seen it. It looked like it was taking her about 3 venomous scarabs to get the mobs down under 50% with the Quinfu helping out, but apparently that rate was still too fast for the guy to handle.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

It's always a compliment when the story is true, but people still can't believe it. My girlfriend got a grand total of 12 Element Stones and 2 celestones. Not exactly a mighty haul, but still enough for a level 76 to whine about her being there apparently. She estimates she was able to kill about 1 in 5, with the other 4 out of 5 being stolen from her by others.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Yes, he was a lvl 76 barb, but I still really can't understand why he would have complained. IMO(and 2 cents worth) It has long standing been a horrific thing for every PW player to attend any event in which you are not at least a lvl 70 or above. Where there are lvl 20 -30 events.. for some reason lvl 70 ppl are there. Now its not cause they need the drops.. they can get more from their own lvl and more expensive ones. Its not cause of the GREAT experience. Again lvl is so low they get next to none. Its still a mystery to me why a lvl 60 and up character would attend a lvl 20-30 wraith event. Not only is it ANNOYING to the lvl 30 and 40 ppl who are trying to participate, but the gain they get isn't even substantial. I agree with their needing to be a cap. After all if EVERYONE on PW showed up at a lvl 70 event just like a lvl 30 event... it would be much the same chaos. There would be dead bodies everywhere!
Alas... they are just as greedy as the next fella.. move along in the end no one gets hurt!
And kudos to ur girl, IF you CAN steal a mob from a levl 79 at lvl 40ish.. then that isnt' really kill stealing. Its math amplified with poor point attribution.

lmao, that reminds me of a scene in Yuu Yuu Hakusho where Yusuke went up against a female fighter and "checked" to see if she was indeed a she, of course it was different because she turned out to be a he. Its been too long since I last saw it to remember for sure but I think it was when they went to rescue Hiei's sister.

Well, it was only "stealing" in the sense that the level 76 Barb actually felt that he somehow had a right to "his" kills that she was managing to get credit for. Or he'd get there right away but then miss a bunch of times (ask any Barb, we miss a lot). In any case, she still needed to be both quick and lucky.
I'm sure every other observer would have seen it as the level 76 failing to kill steal from my girlfriend, but the fact that he saw it the other way and went so far as to use foul language to tell her to back off from "his" kills is what makes the story so funny, and that's why I wrote the account rather tongue-in-cheekly from what I imagine was his warped perspective on what happened.
The moral, as I see it, is that there will always be a vocal minority of people who always view themselves as the victim, no matter how heavily the deck is stacked in their favour.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Yes, the OP is engaging, articulate and good humored and i'm tempted to almost believe him. But see, i still can't accept his claim as it would be very hard for someone being outdamaged in this way to handle regular questing/grinding. How would he level? Even pure tank barbs can dish more than enough damage. The other point is i hardly think someone which would take so long to kill a mob, as you describe your girlfriend doing, could claim more than a couple of kills at a wraith raid. We're talking gimped mobs here, whatever their nominal level, wasn't anyone around who could actually deal damage? Either 1) You're just trolling people to mock them 2) Don't know better yourself and are claiming bragging rights where no merit is due (maybe your gf was the only person that could actually move through a lag fest) 3) Actually believe this is somehow possible, and pretty much made it up. It's all LIES one way or the other...0

That is not Kill Stealing, if anything he was KSing your gf, since she got the first hit on the mob...... And she not outdamaged the Barb, she only outranged him... It is seriously not the same thing.... really....Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and slap that mother#$@%#^! upside the head.0 -
